Bhumi is one of India’s largest independent youth volunteer non-profit organisations. We work towards creating holistic development of over 10,000 under-privileged children in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, New Delhi, Rajasthan and several other parts of the country. We work with children in orphanages, slum and village community centres; educating and mentoring them for a better future, for both themselves and our country.

Internship Opportunity – English Project:

We require enthusiastic people as interns, who are willing to devote a few hours daily in order to help us in creating a vibrant and joyful environment for kids of community centres and children’s homes.

What will you do?

The interns will ideate to prepare learning kits for various teaching projects

Designing creative activities for young learners to learn language

A lot of cutting and pasting work to convert those ideas into functional kits

Work in teams and with Bhumi volunteers to pilot activities in centres

Bhumi is willing to accept the interns anytime during the next 4 months. The internship will be 4-6 weeks long for 6-7 hours every day (Monday to Friday)

Internship Opportunity – Mathematics Programme:

Bhumi is currently using various teaching/learning materials (TLM) in TAMIL which we have to distribute among various parts of India after translating them in regional languages. For this, we are seeking Tamil proficient interns who can understand, read and write any of the following languages: Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, Marathi or Guajarati.

What will you do?

The intern will help the Bhumi team translate the teaching/learning materials into any of the languages Telugu/Hindi/Kannada/Marathi/Guajarati, whichever he/she is proficient in.

Bhumi is willing to accept the interns anytime during the next 4 months. The internship will be 3-5 weeks long for 5-6 hours every day (Monday to Friday).

Internship Opportunity – Science Programme:

We require enthusiastic people as interns, who have interest in basic science (class 5 to 7) and are willing to devote a few hours daily in order to help us in creating a vibrant and joyful environment for kids of community centres and children’s home.

What will you do?

The interns will ideate to prepare learning kits for the science project

Design activities that explain complex scientific concepts in a simple and joyful way

Explore relevant books/content to choose activities and experiments for young learners to learn science

Draft lessons after collating all the relevant activities

Work in teams and with Bhumi volunteers to pilot the activities in centres

Bhumi is willing to accept the interns anytime during the next 4 months. The internship will be 4-6 weeks long for 5-6 hours every day (Monday to Friday).
