Antec PC Case Has Enough Space for Even the Best Graphics Cards

The top video board length can be of 400 mm / 15.7 inches

Many PC cases are limited in terms of what central processing units (CPUs) and graphics cards they can use, simply because of the room inside. Yet Antec decided to do its best to eliminate those limitations when it made the GX300.

The product turned out to be one of the most accommodating PC enclosures on the market, while still not going beyond the size limit of mid-tower cases.

You'll be hard-pressed to find a chassis capable of housing better hardware, although if you were banking on a cooler with a height greater than 170-180 mm, you'll have to live with the disappointment.

Fortunately, there aren't many of them out there, and those that do exist are ultimately unnecessary. Unless you want to go overboard with overclocking, in which case a liquid-based cooling solution might be better suited anyway, making the matter moot.

Antec GX300 Midi-Tower chassis

The newcomer measures 485 x 180 x 475 mm, which corresponds to 19.09 x 7.08 x 18.70 inches. It also has a net weight of 5.45 kg / 12 pounds.

That means that all mini-ITX, micro-ATX and full-ATX motherboards on the market will fit inside, along with everything else important.

Storage is well represented by six 3.5-inch drive bays that can easily enough be transformed into 2.5-inch trays, making both HDDs and SSDs compatible. No tools required in either case.

For the CPU, the motherboard has a CPU cooler cutout, meaning that it's easy to install the cooler, whichever it is.

Seven expansion slots exist as well, though they'll probably never be used all at the same time, due to individual video cards usually taking up the space of two, even with single-slot heatsinks or water blocks.

Speaking of coolers, there is space for two 120 mm fans at the top, two 120 mm fans at the front, and one 120 mm fan at the back. Only the rear fan is included.

As for I/O, Antec included a front panel with one USB 3.0 High Speed port, one USB 2.0 connector, and one audio output jack (for speakers/headphones).

Availability and pricing

The Antec GX300 has a price of €59 / $59 (including VAT) and has a three-year warranty backing it up. It should be found both with and without a side window (GX300 & GX300 Window are the names setting them apart). If you can't find it up for order, know that it might take a few days for in-stock lists to be updated.

Press Release

Spoiler

Antec Inc., a global leader in high-performance computer enclosures, power supplies, and mobile accessories today announces the availability of the GX300, the latest addition to Antec's GX series. There is also a version with a window in the side panel available, the GX300 Window. The GX300 is now commercially available from 59€ (suggested retail price including VAT) and is backed by Antec's Quality 3-Year Warranty.

The Midi-Tower is painted black inside and out and features an advanced cooling system as well as rounded upper and lower edges. The GX300 is a clean yet aggressive case with space for high-end graphics cards up to a length of 15.7 inches (400 mm), as well as extra space behind the motherboard tray and routing holes to ensure a neat and tidy build. Thanks to its cutout for the CPU and generous space for cable management, it is fun and easy to assemble a system.

The top-mounted IO panel allows direct access to the main components, such as USB 2.0 and USB 3.0, Audio jacks, the power button, a fan control switch (high & low speeds) and last but not least an illuminated LED indicator. The GX300 accommodates Standard ATX, microATX, and mini-ITX motherboards and features six tool less drive bays (6x 2.5" bays or 6 x 3.5" bays) for an easy installation, seven PCI-E slots for multi-GPC expansion and supports multiple graphic cards.

The advanced cooling system includes fan mounts for two 120 mm top exhaust fans, a mount for one 120mm rear exhaust fan as well as two mounts for 120mm front intake fans. The chassis features an elevated stand for improved air flow management.

"At a very competitive price, the GX300 offers a lot of features and lets users be prepared for future upgrades", explains Jerome Francois, Sales Director Europe at Antec. "It demonstrates the opportunity to create an up-to-date system with great airflow and space for the latest components."
