On The Volunteer Management System (VMS)

Many thanks to all the folks who have gone on the VMS site and signed up for the Home & Garden Show, the Herb Market and the 1st Monarch Festival.  We still have 24 volunteer slots open at the Home & Garden Show, 6 open at the Herb Market (Pot-a-Plant) and 2 open at the Monarch Festival.  Please sign-up now….your assistance is needed!

BCMG Office Hours Change for Next Week!

The BCMG office will have afternoon hours: Tue, Wed, and Thu, Sept 27 – 29, from 1- 4pm.  Carol Law will NOT be in the office on Fri, Sep 30. If you need help with anything, please call 210-631-0404 during regular office hours (Wed and Friday from 9 – 2) any week before Sept 27, OR send an email to bcmg09@satx.rr.com.

GET INVOLVED IN THESE MAJOR EVENTS –– SIGN UP ONLINE!

Using the Volunteer Management System (VMS is the system you use to record your Volunteer Hours and CEUs via the BCMG Website Members Page) for the HOME & GARDEN SHOW, THE HERB MARKET, & THE MONARCH FEST (details on the VMS)!

Sign-in to the Volunteer Management System (VMS).

Look at the left hand column and click on “General Event Calendar”.

Go to the month/date for the event you are interested in volunteering and click on the time slot you prefer (you can change the month by clicking on the arrow by the month at the top of the calendar).

A page giving details of the event will appear.

Scroll down and you will see “Volunteer for Event” – click on that box and you’re done!

At the very bottom of the page you will see a list of all MGs who have volunteered. There’s also a box where you can save yourself a “Reminder!” If all the volunteer slots are filled, you will not be able to register for that date/time. Try another one!

SPEAKERS BUREAU

Needs your help! Please email Karen Gardner or call 210-571-3903 to have your name and contact information added to the Speaker Volunteer List and the Speakers Bureau Assistant’s List, or to volunteer for a specific request. Speakers use Volunteer Hour Activity #s: 902=preparation; 903=presentation; 904=tear down; Assistants use #901=Administration. Thanks!!

Monarch Biology, Ecology & Monarch Larval Monitoring Project Trg –– Details on MG Calendar

Info: Learn about Monarch Biology and Life Cycle, Milkweed Ecology, Monarch Migration, and citizen science projects to monitor monarchs.  Visit the CNC’s milkweed patch to monitor for monarch larvae; live butterflies and caterpillars will be on display. SABOT Fall Plant Sale
