BCMG Board Meets Thursday, Oct 20 (New Date)
The October meeting of the BCMG Board of Directors has been rescheduled to 4-6pm on Thu, Oct 20, at 3355 Cherry Ridge Street, San Antonio. All members are welcome to observe the meetings; however, in order to accommodate seating, please email the President, Jack Downey, that you will be attending.

Info: Enjoy a night of entomaphagy prepared by Texas A&M AgriLife Extension’s Expanded Food and Nutrition Program’s chefs and Bexar County 4-H Food Challenge Teams. Learn how insects are a sustainable form of agriculture and surprisingly enjoyable culinary experience! This three course, 5 star, fiesta inspired meal will be paired with an appropriate cocktail or locally brewed beer and many ingredients grown locally at Texas A&M AgriLife Farms. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Hardberger Park Children’s Garden
Volunteers are needed to prepare the Children’s Garden on Tuesday mornings at 8am. Work involves carrying garden tools and buckets from the storage area to the park and setting them up for the families to use. Contact Nancy Brown or (210) 315-5015 to help out.
Schultze House
Be part of the restoration of Hemisfair Park. Volunteers are needed to assist clearing the property for Texas Superstar planting. Planting plans are being finalized. For recent graduates of the Texas Superstar Specialist Training all work at Schultze House counts towards your twenty certification hours. Contact Jack Downey or (210) 771-7312.
Butterfly Garden Volunteer
Area Boy Scouts recently planted a butterfly garden at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church School entrance. If you are interested in guiding the OLPH Church members who are caring for the garden with advice on maintaining this butterfly garden, please contact Jack Downey or (210) 771-7312.
Herb Market at Pearl Brewery Farmers Market
When: Sat, Oct 15, 8:30am-1:30pm

INFO: Come out and join us for the San Antonio Herb Market Association Herb Market Fest. Bexar County Youth Gardens Program will have a booth where kids will pot mint to take home. The 2016 Southern Region Master Gardener Conference will be held Nov 1-4, 2016 and hosted by Tarrant County in Arlington and Fort Worth. Master Gardeners from thirteen southern states will come together to learn from gardening specialists, tour local sites and gardens, and be treated to some good old-fashioned Texan hospitality. Dinner Tonight Healthy Cooking School
