NAPS DOUBLE AMONG EIGHT WINS: Daqman dared a double of naps yesterday, one for the Flat (Ibn Malik WON 3-1) and one for the Jumps (Mister Miyagi WON 13-8) among eight winning bets, including three doubles and a treble and a one-two (8-1 forecast with Ladbrokes), Mahsoob (WON 10-3) and Air Pilot.

172 POINTS PROFIT IN TWO DAYS: The winners, all at Newmarket and Cheltenham, brought in 136 points profit to add to more than 36 points yesterday, when his winners included an 8-1 shot. His 12 Craven week wins so far are:

WON 8-1 Thikriyaat (win and place)
WON 10-3 Mahsoob (win and place)
WON 3-1 Ibn Malik (nap)
WON 13-8 Mister Miyagi (nap)
WON 5-4 Nathra
WON 1-2 Gifted Master (treble)
3rd 11-1 Golden Reign

BANKER BET IN THE CRAVEN STAKES: Ibn Malik and Mahsoob gave Daqman a 2-0 win over Pricewise and he’s now 8-4 in the lead this season (305-120 overall). They clash today only in the 3.55 Newmarket. Daqman tries another naps double across the cards at Cheltenham and Newmarket, and has a banker in the Craven Stakes.

15.0 START WITH THE SECOND-STRING SANTE

2.10 Newmarket Charles Hills is worried about the ground for Jadaayil, with showers forecast on on this third day of the Craven Meeting, and yesterday’s times up to 11 seconds slow.

Stablemate Sante (sire’s progeny go best on easy side of good) has been working just as well at Faringdon Place. Well drawn and 15.0 in the BETDAQ orange, as I write.

2.45 Newmarket Mark Johnston is 50% (5-10) with his two-year-olds but, on yesterday’s evidence, Camargue is not well drawn in the one stall and, again, stable-second-string, Love Oasis (11.0) may do best.

Hugo Palmer’s Zumran is said to be ‘sharp’ at home, and early-mouse money for Dubai One is interesting; Godolphin horses are rarely short so early in the day unless the form warrants it.

Dubai One is related to a silver seam of two-year-old winners but is Saeed Bin Suroor’s first juvenile runner of 2016 so it’s a wait-and-see pudding.

3.20 Newmarket Ballydoyle pinched this last year with a 14-1 shot but Landofhopeandglory won’t be much better than even money if the morning markets are any guide.

Big for a two-year-old, he did well enough, though short of a bit of pace. Goes well fresh and the sort that could be asked to set a target.

Harlequeen was also a big type last season but Mick Channon got her off the mark on soft. The stable had a good AW winter, has two turf winners already.

Oaks hope Harlequeen is ‘highly regarded’ at home, so maybe shouldn’t be offered at 8.6 on BETDAQ this morning.

It’s asking a lot for a filly to beat the colts at this time of year, and Linguistic’s form is closely related to that of Tuesday’s Feilden winner, Ventura Storm.

John Gosden’s had four winners at the Craven meeting so far this week, and Linguistic will appreciate the step up in trip. I took 6.2.

With a fat wallet at Newmarket this week, I thought Linguistic and Harlequeen gave me a big chance of beating Landofhopeandglory, and fancied a triple whammy, laying the O’Brien beast.

We have no idea where Landofhopeandglory is in the Ballydoyle pecking order. Nor at this stage does Aidan ‘He’s ready to start’ O’Brien. But his magic name makes this one favourite.

THANKS FOR THE MEMORY IN THE ABERNANT

3.55 Newmarket (Abernant Stakes) Horses aged four and five are 7-10 in this, and the older ones here are once-a-year winners who usually need time to wind themselves up.

Baccarat won at Meydan after a long absence, and the ‘bounce’ factor is a worry, along with the surface. He prefers top of the ground.

Son Of Afric and Tupi also seem to need a soundish terrain (both easy to back this morning) and Mattmu’s stable is badly out of form.

He’s in the one stall and has never won until July at the earliest. Aeolus has always needed a run but Mobsta is fit from scoring on loose ground at Doncaster.

It’s hard to see past Magical Memory (4.2 offers in a punter-friendly 105% orange) for an in-form yard. He improved 20lb last summer and his in-form trainer reckons all ground comes the same to him. Nicely drawn in 8.

Equiano landed me one of my biggest wins when taking this for Barry Hills and son Charles is following in the giant’s footsteps. Thanks for the memory, Barrington.

4.30 Newmarket You could get 6.7-10 this morning about Guineas and Derby hope Foundation, who has no Group penalty here, though he would have been unbeaten as a two-year-old but for being hampered in the Racing Post Trophy. Banker.

ROBINS REEF NAPPED ON STEP UP IN TRIP

1.50 Cheltenham Bantham suggested in the Mares’ Novices at the festival – she finished in front of Actinpieces and Chocca Wocca – that a step up to today’s trip would suit. Tasty 8.0 in a 106% BETDAQ orange.

Bantham’s trainer, Henry Daly, knows all about The Organist; he ran Briery Belle second to that one at Doncaster. Katie Too was disappointing in her only race this year and her stable is out of form.

2.25 Cheltenham Eight out of 20 winners come from below 11st., where another Henry Daly mare, Kayfleur, has a 10.0 chance, according to the BETDAQ layers.

But I shall take a chance on the ‘grand big mare’ (trainers’ words), Indian Stream, back from a break and looking for drying ground.

Neil Mulholland is back to form with three winners in two days and with a 22% record over fences on today’s course: I hope the 9.8 BETDAQ offers don’t mean that thunderstorms have arrived.

3.00 Cheltenham Martin Keighley is on a hat-trick after yesterday’s double, and Flementine, paper forecast at 20-1, was 9.6 when I checked out the orange.

Robins Reef, like Bantam (1.50) – they were half a length part at the festival – should appreciate the step up in trip.

If you remember, in that 1.50, I referred to Briery Belle as a benchmark and here she is giving 2lb to Robins Reef (including Freddie Mitchell’s claim), whom she beat four lengths in receipt of 9lb over a trip like today’s in November.

Lady Of Longstone is the trade horse at 9.0, expected to go off like the proverbial scalded cat, as they do when trained David Pipe.
