The Turkish new car market is up a shiny 11% year-on-year in November to 79,301 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 723,660 units, up a robust 9% on 2012. For only the second time in the history of this generation after November 2011, the Ford Fiesta takes the lead of the models sales charts this month thanks to 3,184 sales and 4% share, up 4 spots on October and compared to a 12th place year-to-date at 2.5%. This performance pushes Ford to #1 brand at 13.2% share vs. 12.9% for Volkswagen and 12.4% for Renault. The Fiat Linea is hiding just around the corner, stuck in 2nd place for the 4th month in a row with 3,019 units and 3.8%, and although it hasn’t ranked #1 since last July it reinforces its year-to-date lead with 33,278 sales and 4.6%, almost 10,000 units above the #2, the Renault Fluence at 23,924 sales and 3.3%…
Mercedes E-Class
Surprise leader last month, the VW Jetta is down to a still very impressive third spot in November thanks to 2,768 units sold for a 3.5% market share vs. #6 and 2.6% year-to-date. The Renault Clio hatchback is up two ranks to #5 and 3.1%, only 10 units below the Fluence, the Renault Symbol is back up two spots to a still paltry #7 while the Toyota Corolla is up one to #8 and 2.9% vs. #17 and 1.9% year-to-date. Further down, let’s salute the Hyundai i20 Troy up to #11, the BMW 3 Series up 14 ranks to #22, Toyota Yaris up 8 to #25 vs. #45 year-to-date, BMW 5 Series up 3 to #31 vs. #42, Skoda Octavia up 42 to #36, Mercedes E-Class stable at #38 vs. #52 year-to-date and the Hyundai i10 up 70 to #54. Finally, we welcome the Mitsubishi Space Star (#180) and Maserati Ghibli (#264) into the Turkish sales charts this month.
