With a little bit of delay, thanks to myk I can share with you an all-models ranking for the Philippines in September. The Filipino new car market continues to evolve at record heights, up 15% year-on-year to 16,991 registrations in September which brings the year-to-date total to an all-time high 153,439 units, also up 15% on 2012. Thanks to the new generation of the model, the Toyota Vios broke the nameplate’s all-time monthly volume record in August with 2,125 sales. It repeats this feat in September with a huge 2,251 units sold for a mammoth 13.2% market share. Year-to-date, the Vios is now just under 10% share at 15,008 sales and 9.8%.
Ford Explorer
The rest of the Top 4 is identical to the year-to-date ranking: the Mitsubishi Montero Sport ranks 2nd at 1,162 units and 6.8% ahead of the Toyota Innova with 1,010 sales and 5.9% and the Toyota Fortuner at 765 units and 4.5%. The Mitsubishi Adventure is up to #5 vs. #8 year-to-date, kicking the Mitsubishi Mirage down to #6. Other great performers this month in the Philippines include the Hyundai Accent up to #11, Ford Explorer up to #18 vs. #31 year-to-date, Kia Rio up to #19 vs. #27, Ford Focus up to #21 vs. #34 and the Subaru Forester up to #25 vs. #33.
