With just over a week left in the holy month of Ramadan, more and more Muslims are dining out with family and friends. If you like to keep in simple and looking for a spot with great tasting authentic Malay cuisine then head over to one of Kuala Lmpur City Centres best kept secret Gobo Chit-Chat at Traders Hotel Kuala Lumpur.

At first when you walk in to the restaurant, you will wonder if the buffet themed "Selera Malaysia" had all the Malaysian Favourites as it claimed,  as the spread is not very spread out everywhere like in most other hotels. However like they say never judge a book by its cover, beacuse you will surely find most of your favourite dishes that you are looking for here. Most importantly all the dishes were tasty and authentic in it's preparations. I must say from the taste aspect alone, i would give this place top marks.

As you head for the buffet its hard to miss the majestic Roast Lamb counter. The lamb was roasted to perfection, inside it was moist and tasty and  accompanied with the briyani rice.

They had a good variety of appetisers available for those who like to start their breaking of fast course by course.

They had a very appetising rojak counter.

The bubur lambuk and soup daging is highly recommended.

The Japanese section at most of the Ramadan buffets is one of the most popular and it was no different here. The Sashimi and sushi were very fresh and well made. The Miso soup was one of the best I have tasted at a buffet. They had a tempura section too.

Now if you are looking for Oysters, crabs and mussels, prawns and shellfish, then look no further as they had a well stocked and well replenished counter with all those.

As you head for the mains, you cannot miss the grill section as the well marinated fishes and seafood are laid out for you to choose from. Your selection is then grilled for you fresh.

The beef and chicken satay were grilled through out the night, so they were fresh and never dry. They were moist and very well prepared. The satay sauce was very good.and brought the satay, the lemang and ketupat all together.

The roti jala with chicken curry was good, they even had a green version of roti jala

They had a Goreng section that looked simply outstanding with Crabs. Prawns, Burung Puyuh and Otak Otak. The frying was done to perfection, it was not over oily or charred.

As you head for the hot dishes section with all the curries to accompany your briyani rice, roti boom or murtabak , you will be spoilt for choice. They had a variety chicken, fish, lamb and prawn dishes for you to choose from.

The Sotong Kangkong section is a must must try.!!!

For those who like some western inspired dishes they had a good variety availble with two types of spaghetti.. Everything was well prepared and tasty

They had a variety of cold and hot drinks including the usual favourites like bandung, ice lemon tea, coffee and teh tarik.

After all that make sure you save some space for a variety of Traditional Malay Kuih and Cakes . They even had nangka, cempedak and durian fritters.

For those who have s sweet tooth and crave for modern sweet dishes they had a variety of cakes, mousse and cookies available.

To wash down the deserts, they can only be one thing.8 types of Ice Cream with all the usual toppings and Ice Kachang!!!

For those who are looking for more healthier deserts, there is a section full of Malaysian seasonal fruits.

The Executive Sous Chef Amirul and his team did a great job, there was a whole varity of malay dishes , everything tasted good and was fresh. I amsure you will feel well contented if you break your fast at Gobo Chit Chat.
