The Hotel Metropole Monte Carlo by Carl Lagerfeld

The Hotel Metropole in Monte Carlo pool, art, furniture and outdoor area have been designed by fashion designer and icon Karl Lagerfeld, but you can search for alternative design armchairs. The pool area accommodates up to 30 guests. Overlooking the pool, the “sundeck” provides additional sun loungers.

By designer’s concept, inspired by legendary ODYSSEY legend, the hotel’s new swimming pool with a stunning fresco-style installation made up of 15 glass panels portraying Ulysses’ journey, gardens and Joël Robuchon’s third restaurant within the hotel. The mural, retracing Ulysses’ journey as chronicled by Homer, has been created by the internationally renowned fashion designer. Clearly a fan of Greek Mythology, Lagerfeld also created a Greek God and Goddesses calendar for Pirelli the same year he began designing this. A real piece of art in itself, the mural serves as a stunning backdrop to this exclusive area.

During the day, ODYSSEY is a haven of peace, exclusive to hotel residents and to the ‘Odyssey’ members of the Métropole ESPA Monte-Carlo. VIP guests are able to enjoy breakfast and lunch by the pool, between 8am and 6pm. The dual concept restaurant ODYSSEY offers an alfresco dining experience at lunchtime with light and refined Mediterranean cuisine and comfortable armchirs.

Between 7pm and 11pm from June through to September, ODYSSEY transform into a destination cocktail bar with similar, to our sugested, stylish chandeliers and design furniture for non-hotel guests and locals, with live music, a resident DJ and innovative light bites created by Joël Robuchon.

Hotel Metropole is located at 4 Avenue de la Madone, 98000 Monaco.

Backed by some of the country’s grandest families, the Hub emanates patrician grooming rather than cutting-edge design. Warm, solid spaces utilize the woods and grasses of Argentina’s forests and pampas. Walls are hung with works by Argentine masters, on loan from the Fortabat Art Collection. Magisterial guest rooms have languorous linen drapes, ivory-leather sofas, and the occasional, impeccably chosen antique.

The Hub stands out for its above-and-beyond concierges, who facilitate introductions to artists, designers, polo players, or literary figures. Chef Dante Liporace reinvigorates suckling pig, puchero stew, and roasted kid in the glass-roofed restaurant shaded by a giant fig tree.
