New additions to the 2012 tour were Walter Gretzky as Guest Coach and Ambassador and added stops on the Stanley Cup tour-2013 promises to be bigger and the best year yet!

 

Whitby, ON (05/04/13) -On Friday April 5th, 2013 at 7:00 pm. At the Iroquois Park Sports Centre (500 Victoria St. West, Whitby), Scotiabank will present Whitby hockey fans with a unique chance to shake the hands of some of the most renowned hockey players of all time, Hockey Hall of Famers, Stanley Cup winners, and special guest Coach and Ambassador for the game, Walter Gretzky. The NHL Alumni will take to the ice against the Ontario Minor Hockey All Stars and will also join forces to raise money for Camp Male Leaf.

 

“We are very excited to showcase an exhibition game with Whitby’s Minor Hockey All Star team” said Mark Napier, Executive Director, NHL Alumni.  “We cherish the chance to get together as Alumni to play with old friends and promote the game of hockey across Ontario, all while raising money for a great cause.”

 

The exciting blend of hockey skill and fun ensures something for all hockey fans. In addition to the game, fans will be treated to a skills competition featuring the world-class players and some hilarious on-ice practical jokes. As presenting sponsor, Scotiabank also gives one lucky fan the chance to win a $2500 investment product in the ‘Scotiabank Shoot for Cash’ between periods. The game will take place at the Iroquois Park Sports Centre, located on Victoria Street West at 7:00 pm.

2012 OMHA Pizza Pizza Hockey Festival-House and Local League teams at the Novice, Atom and Peewee divisions from across the OMHA are invited to participate in the OMHA Pizza Pizza Hockey Festival. This weekend will be packed with hockey and many special events for everyone in the family.

 

Camp Maple Leaf- (www.campmapleleaf.net) was originally started by the Canadian Council of War Veteran’s Associations in 1955. The camp is a living memorial, paying homage to Canadian soldiers who were killed in the line of duty. For over 40 years they offered the leadership that was necessary in order to offer a quality summer experience to children who, due to financial barriers, would not have been able to attend summer camp.

 

The NHL Alumni- (www.nhlalumni.net) is a non-profit organization, which serves as a liaison for 28 local alumni groups.
