Funny lady Kristen Bell is known for being a strong woman, but let's be real, it takes a lot of bravery to pose nude. Find out why Kristen agreed to take it all off for Allure and how she really feels about her body postbaby.
"This is the first interview I've ever done where I'm not wearing panties. Lucky you," says Kristen Bell. And that is how I met the 33-year-old actress (House of Lies, Veronica Mars), who, for the record, was wearing a robe. We were on set at her recent Allure shoot, where she had just stripped down for the annual Nudes feature in our May issue (on newsstands now). As you might guess, she was pretty candid when we chatted.
What's your favorite body part? "I'm a big fan of buns. Buns and cakes. On anybody. Not just my own. I mean, I'm a fan of my own buns. I'm very happy with the amount that I've been given, and I often attempt to sculpt them into something more than what I've been given. But I notice other people's buns quite a bit."
Were you comfortable with your body while you were pregnant? "I was terribly frightened that I would feel like a schlub and not at all beautiful. But I've never been so comfortable with my body. When I looked in the mirror, I saw Cindy Crawford."
Have you ever used a body double? "I have definitely and happily used a body double. It's a very nice thing to be able to rely on."
How did you exercise after your daughter was born? "I started doing Pilates, then I realized it wasn't as torturous as regular cardio, so I've kept it up. I'm more in shape now than I've been at other times in my life."
Why pose nude? "I talk a big game about being comfortable no matter my size. I wanted to put my money where my mouth was."
If there's one person you don't want to see these pictures, who is it? "I'm not concerned with anyone. I hope it's not misinterpreted, but that's too big of a problem for me to actually think about."
