FOUR MODERN DAY BEAUTY ICONS, FOUR

COMPLETELY DIFFERENT LOOKS

we ask L’Oreal’s talented & gorgeous spokesmodels, ‘how they get glowing’?

Here are their beauty secrets…

Doutzen Kroes

Beauty mantra: “Every woman should be proud of who she is.”

What’s in your make-up bag? “L’Oréal Paris Telescopic Mascara and Nude Magique BB cream. And not too much – if I use the BB cream I don’t use foundation. And I love lip gloss. So mascara, lipstick and foundation or BB cream.”

What’s your go-to beauty look for a red carpet event? “It depends on the dress I think – whether you do a smoky eye, or a lip. If it’s a dress that’s really big and ‘important’ I think you have to take the make-up down a bit. But I love smoky eyes.”

What’s your ultimate beauty tip? “Always clean your face before you go to bed, so your skin can rest.”

What are your healthy hair secrets? “Most of the time just I just use L’Oréal Elvive shampoo and conditioner for color-treated hair, but I haven’t dyed my hair in a year because I was pregnant. And sometimes I put coconut oil on my ends.”

Eva Longoria

Beauty mantra: “I don’t regret anything in life. I always move on.”

What’s your biggest beauty secret? “Moisturising. Because I fly so much, hydration is important. When you have good skin, everything else kind of falls into place. Also, I use blush with shimmer in it. That way, your skin glows and people notice it.”

What are your three desert island make-up musts? “Firstly, mascara. Ever since doing the shoot for Million Lashes I have been addicted. I love the brush and the texture of the mascara. It’s not clumpy and is the blackest black. Then all I would need is a bronzer and some fresh water.”

What’s your beauty routine? “I wash my face with a cleanser, then do a whole nightly routine with moisturiser, vitamin C and lip balm. During the day I apply moisturiser and bronzer all over, then mascara – and that’s it, I am ready. I rarely blow-dry my hair because it is naturally wavy and I can’t be bothered, especially if it is raining.”

How do you keep your hair looking so gorgeous? “I have tried a Brazilian blow-dry and that was good for taking the frizz out. I do colour my hair so much – and prefer being a dark brunette as it’s natural and effortless – so I always use moisturising shampoos and conditioners to keep the colour. I sometimes use a mask, too.

Blake Lively

Beauty mantra: “Beauty is rooted in confidence. That is key.”

What is your favourite beauty product right now? These days I don’t have time to put on any makeup, really; I cover the dark circles under my eyes. But there’s a L’Oréal Colour Riche lipstick—it’s a watermelon-y colour that’s subtle, but it pops.

How do you keep your skin glowing? “In winter, I focus on hydration, in summer, I go with lighter moisturisers, and regardless of the season, I am always focused on sun protection.”

What are your hair care secrets? “My hair changes depending on where I am. If I’m someplace very humid, it can get a little frizzy and big, so I need something to calm it down, but when I’m home in New York, what I really want is volume since I like to wear my hair loose. L’Oreal Paris Elvive shampoo and conditioner make it look like I spent a lot of time on my hair when really, I probably just put it in a ballerina bun and let it air-dry.”

What’s your go-to make-up look? My favourite make-up look is something that has an effortless and deconstructed look – dewy skin, a neutral eye palette with mascara, and a glossy nude or pink lip.

Frieda Pinto

Beauty mantra: “Because I’m worth it is the ultimate affirmation of self confidence.”

What is your daily beauty ritual? “Cleanse and moisturise, and back it up with the intake of at least three to four litres of water every day and plenty of fresh and raw fruits and vegetables.”

Your biggest beauty secret? “I have no secrets! I want everyone to benefit from the beauty practices that I follow. My beets and carrot juice is a great way to cleanse the system and purge unwanted toxins from the body – it ultimately leads to healthy-looking skin. And from the outside, a glycolic peel or microdermabrasion under the strict guidance of a good dermatologist is quite useful. Exercise is very important too and a great way to de-stress. A massage is relaxing.”

What are some of the beauty products you can’t live without? “I love the L’Oréal Paris Glam Shine glosses and the new collection has great colours that are perfect for summer! If I want a bolder look, I wear the Color Infallible eyeshadows.”

How do you keep your hair looking so healthy? “I was my hair at least four times per week, but I stay away from frequent blow-drying. If I have a bad hair day, I just tie it up neatly in a ponytail.”
