Happy Memorial Day! This week, we asked our designers to focus on the new Riley and Rover collections when creating their projects. These new collections will be hitting your favorite local scrapbook stores and online retailers any day now, and we want you to have plenty of ideas in mind when you're able to get a hold of them. I love the projects our Creative Team members came up with, and I hope you do too!

This page came together by accident. Using my Silhouette CAMEO, I had cut the hearts out of one piece of white cardstock for the background and was planning to back each of the hearts with pattern paper. I cut my pattern paper in 3rds and cut the hearts out. When I removed the papers, I really liked the pieces that were leftover and decided to use those for my background instead of the white cardstock. I trimmed the pattern papers and stitched them together. Then I just mixed and matched hearts all around the paper and added some enamel hearts here and there. Finally I added my photo and title. Now I still have that white heart cut-out and plenty of hearts so I think I'll create the original layout I was planning for our other rescue dog, Kona!

With all the colorful papers and patterns from Bella Blvd, you might think creating a more subdued design would be difficult. But with the neutral colors mixed into each collection, it’s easy to pull together a sophisticated palette! On this page, I’ve used the gray elements in the Riley collection mixed with pops of yellow and a big dose of white. The color scheme was inspired by my photo, which features our tortoiseshell and yellow tiger cats. I started with a piece of the Silver Confetti Clear Cuts transparency, layering various squares of patterned paper on the top, and finishing with my photo. Small stickers and chipboard accents in gray and yellow, along with the gray alphabet stickers from the Riley collection, help embellish the page. I love that the elements are whimsical and fun, but the color palette adds an elegant twist.

The moment I saw the Rover collection I couldn’t wait to get more pictures of our dog Chevy in the books. The colors and patterns are super fun and cute, I really like that it is an animal collection but could still be used for other things as well. To start my layout I chose to use a bunch of the papers cut into small strips along the top, I cut about half an inch off of it and put it along the bottom of the page as well. Brady and Chevy love each other so much so the pictures pretty much speak for themselves, I added some of the stickers down the center and stitched my title down to finish it off.
