Every week we share with our readers the top and most popular stories on the Internet that are putting Belize on the map.

This week our team is pleased to disseminate the top 10 stories/articles on Belize that are making international headlines.

The stories/articles range from resort and hotel blogs to travel reviews.

Without further ado, here are those stories:

1.) Latin Post: ATM Cave is Top Sacred Cave in the World

A recent article on Latin Post, a popular Internet site that caters to the Hispanic Community in the US and the rest of the world praised Actun Tunichil Muknal as one of the top caves that travelers have to explore when they visit Belize.

2.) Secluded Luxury Holiday Villa in Belize: Casa Aurora

When it comes to traveling luxuriously, most people tend to go for seclusion and ultimate relaxation. These two features characterize Casa Aurora, a special retreat in Cayo Espanto, Belize, Central America. With two bedrooms and two bathrooms, this green place of refuge is as serene as its gets.

3.) Go Pro Video on Belize Goes Viral

Decided to take just a single GoPro, GoPole and head strap for this 10 day adventure. See what is possible with only these three things as we climb Mayan ruins, play with monkeys, swim with sharks and dive with all forms of sea creatures. Cars, taxis, boats, planes, kayaks, bikes, canoes – this is Belize.

4.) Volunteer blog: Learning to dive in Belize

Before booking my trip to Belize I had a choice to make – learn to dive back home (in the UK), or learn on the project. To me this was a no brainer, and after finishing my PADI Open Water and Advanced Open Water out in Belize I could see I made the right choice. My PADI training started just two days after arriving on the project and on my third day I found myself all kitted up; sitting nervously on the side of the boat.

5.) Belize: The State Of The Nation

Instead of dealing with all and sundry, gifts and glory, today I take off my gloves to try to deal a death blow with the little strength I have left….to only ONE, but principal among the obstacles to the development of my country and people….who, deep in my heart of hearts, I believe aspire to greater INDEPENDENCE.

6.) Backpacking in Belize: Cave Tour of Actun Tunichil Muknal

When you hear about backpackers heading to Belize you think about beaches, sun and snorkelling. And yes all that stuff is cool and it really happens. I did it all too! But it was my plan in Belize to witness a load of other impressive things in the country not just for myself but also to show other travellers to Belize how diverse a country this is. For me, this included a few days in Belmopan, the capital, as well as Xunantunich, Placencia and a trip to Actun Tunichil Muknal. Thanks to my friend and DSL follower Ray for some extra cool tip offs for Belize (and a few photos which I’ll explain later), not all of which I found time for, but Actun Tunichil Muknal I did.

7.) Belize’s Xanadu Island Resort in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye

Relaxing at the pure luxury of Xanadu Resort in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, Belize. The Xanadu Resort in San Pedro Belize is paradise.  It was voted the best hotel in Belize for the last 4 years on Trip Advisor. Xanadu Island Resort is situated on the island of Ambergris Caye, in the town of San Pedro, in Belize. San Pedro can be reached by ferry from either Chetumal in Mexico or Caye Caulker/Belize City in Belize. Once you get to San Pedro, get a taxi to Xanadu – the taxi drivers will know it – a taxi should cost 10 Belize Dollars.

8.) Belize Celebrates “Jouvert 2014″

J’ouvert is a large street party during Carnival and is held every year in September in Belize. According to Wikipedia, J’ouvert is a contraction of the French jour ouvert, or dawn/day break. The celebration involves calypso and soca bands and it usually starts well before dawn and peaks a few hours after sunrise.

9.) More Indians escape to Ambergris Caye, Belize for holiday

Indians prefer travelling closer home with Asian cities dominating the ‘Top 20 Destinations’ and Asia being the ‘Top Continent’. US takes number one spot in the ‘Top Countries’ category. The data reveals interesting findings in the ‘Emerging Destinations’ and ‘Emerging Countries’ categories with Ambergris Caye, Belize topping the list in emerging destination and China leading as the emerging country for travellers.

Looking to continue your Summer a little longer, well head south and plan to stay at one of the most lavish and unique destinations one could ask for; the Caribbean Soul Villa.
