The Cell Phone is Master in Social Media

~ James Moore

Social networking is quickly becoming the one and only way for a business to grow their client base and become the ‘brand’ that everyone knows – whether it be on ‘sight’ with an unforgettable logo or icon; or by ‘ear’ because of a theme song or slogan that becomes unforgettable.

Last week we spoke briefly about the fact that advertising and social media are turning more toward the mobile world and away from home PC’s. (In fact, there has been a 400% increase in mobile advertising in just the past year). But this is one subject that deserves a great deal of thought for start-up businesses who are truly looking into hiring that Social Media Management Team to increase their ROI and put their business on the ‘map’ far above their industry competitors.

Be First Social Media and Simplify360 are two ‘heavy-hitters’ in the social media realm. They have a wealth of experience when it comes to helping start-up businesses with everything from the creative side of things (advertising and marketing) to the ‘bare bones’ of a business (monitoring, surveying and keeping a 24/7 eye on the businesses competing in a specific industry.) And when it comes to the world of mobile social media, they certainly understand that this is a fast-growing and very much needed part of increasing business because it focuses on the one facet of communication that all individuals have with them on a daily basis.

A current trend that is growing by leaps and bounds is the ability to create mobile apps that give users instant and real-time access to sites and information from their device. In addition, there have been mobile social networks created where communities are built around mobile functionality, which is truly blurring the lines between mobile communications and the web. Web based social networks are now being extended for mobile access through Smartphone applications as well as browsers. And, just like the web, mobile apps literally spread content quickly while still increasing accessibility and connecting users

There are many ways to use the ‘Mobile Web’ in order for a business to increase sales. It is wise to know that there are currently about 93 million people with access to the web on their mobile device – just in the United States. And the tools and features that the mobile world offers are certainly things that should be used to the extreme by a business that wishes to grow.

One tool is referred to as “Click to Call” which means that any guest who comes to your website to take a peek can simply click on your company’s phone number and call your business immediately, as well as add that number to their contact list.

One-third of all searches that people make from a mobile phone is for information on the local businesses that are surrounding them at any given moment. It is a fact that Smartphone users are, on a daily basis, searching for products and services in the vicinity. Using this built-in GPS, your mobile website can appear and send visitors directly to your location. And they can access your site at any time – day or night – from just about anywhere. Smartphones are used for shopping as well as keeping up with news and local media, and your icon, theme, slogan, etc. can always have a place in various browsers so that all mobile users can get to know the ‘buzz’ about your company.

Smartphone users can be bought to your website through creative engineering, advertising marketing and more, if your brand is always there to be seen, studied, visited and remembered. THIS is how your name grows larger and larger in your particular industry.

So when it comes to the ins-and-outs of social media, remember that delving into mobile apps and mobile advertising is a must for your business. And, in order to make sure that ALL bases are covered when it comes to you and your use of social media, make sure to hire the ‘team’ that will leave no stone unturned when it comes to making you a success!
