Recognizing the most popular Latin music on the charts , the Billboard Latin Music Awards features top solo performers & Latin groups vying for top honors in such categories as pop, rock, tropical, Mexican regional music, and Reggaeton.  In 2014, the Billboard Latin Music Awards celebrates its 16th anniversary, with nominees announced in February. Leading the pack this year includes Romeo Santos with nods in 17 categories. Prince Royce and Marc Anthony are close behind with 16 and 15 nominations. Other major finalists include Daddy Yankee, Enrique Iglesias, Gerardo Ortiz, and Christina Aguilera. Performing on the big night will be Andrea Bocelli, Laura Pausini, David Bisbal, Juanes, and La Arrolladora Banda El Limon De Rene Camacho. More live performances are promised by singer Ricky Martin,  Luis Fonsi, and the “Mother of all bands” Banda El Recodo De Cruz Lizarraga! The 2014 Billboard Music Awards will air on Sunday, May 18, and the finalists were announced on the morning of April 9, 2014 on ‘Good Morning America’.

Jason announced the nominees for five categories: Top Artist, Top Male Artist, Top Female Artist, Top R&B Artist, and Top Country Artist, but the finalists from all 40 categories include Lorde, Bruno Mars, Rihanna, Imagine Dragons, Katy Perry, Pharrell Williams, and Robin Thicke.
