It figures that as soon as I start collecting my thoughts to write My Favourite Beauty Products of 2013 post that Hostgator decides to die. But, better late than never!

Favourite Skincare Item: Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask

Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask

You can check out my original review here. I use it once or twice a week, and I love how it tightens and smooths my skin. I am almost done this jar and already have a backup at the ready.

Favourite Concelaer: MAC Pro Longwear Concealer

MAC Pro Longwear Concealer

I bought this when it first came out and kind of didn’t like it for some strange reason. But I started using it again this year, and you know what? I LOVE IT. It’s creamy, doesn’t crease at all and covers anything and everything including dark circles without looking obvious. When I don’t want to fuss with foundation, I use MAC Pro Longwear Concelaer where I need to and put on a bit of powder and go. This bottle is empty right now, so I’ll be getting another one for sure!

Favourite Foundation, BB Cream, CC Cream

Vichy ProEVEN BB Cream, Shiseido Perfect Refining Foundation,GOSH CC Cream Illuminating Foundation

Vichy ProEVEN BB Cream is hands down the best BB Cream I’ve tried so far. It has lovely coverage and makes your skin feel so velvety smooth. It makes you glow like an angel!

Shiseido Perfect Refining Foundation is something I bought after seeing a French YT beauty vlogger use it. It’s AMAZING. Thin, yet has pretty amazing coverage, it leaves your face looking airbrushed and perfect. If you have large pores like I do, this is seriously the best foundation you can use as you won’t even SEE any pores on your face after using it. It lasts all day and feels like you have nothing on, which is another reason why I love it. I can’t stand that foundation feeling on my skin. Makes me feel like I’m suffocating.

GOSH CC Cream Illuminating Foundation does colour correct, but I appreciate that it has decent coverage as well. I get that CC Creams are meant to colour correct, but I don’t get how you can REALLY do that without some type of coverage if ya know what I mean. This has both and works really well. Plus this shade o1 Ivory matches my skin to a T.

Favourite Finishing Powder: Guerlain Crazy 68 Meteorites Illuminating Compact

Guerlain Crazy 68 Meteorites Illuminating Compact

Guerlain Crazy 68 Meteorites Illuminating Compact has replaced ALL of my finishing powders. It lightens up my face, blurs imperfections, and makes makeup last all day. Plus it has that Gueralin happy smell!

Favourite Eye Shadow Primers ARTDECO Eyeshadow Base and  MAC Pro Longwear Paintpots

ARTDECO Eyeshadow Base, MAC Pro Longwear Paintpots

ARTDECO Eyeshadow Base is like a MAC Paintpot without any colour. It seriously keeps whatever I put on my oilier than oily lids in place. Speaking of MAC Paintpots, these new MAC Pro Longwear Paintpots I really love! I have this one in Tailor Grey and Camel Coat and they are the best things to just slap on and blend out all over my eye and be done. And they work really well as primer to intensify eyeshadows too.

Favourite Eyeshadow and Eyeliner: Make Up Forever Aqua Creams and Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof Eyeliner in Taupe

Make Up Forever Aqua Creams, Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof Eyeliner in Taupe

Eyeshadows period have not really been my favourite makeup item this year, as most just don’t stay put on me. But I can always count on Make Up Forever Aqua Creams to stay put all day no matter what. I’ve been wearing them when I do want to wear eyeshadows. This is shade 01 which is a gorgeous charcoal grey, but my fave is really #13 which is a rosy champagne pink. Truthfully, most of the time I’ll just wear an eyeliner on my bottom lash line and my fave has been this Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof Eyeliner in Taupe. LOVE it. Stays put, love the colour, it has just the right amount of sparkle to brighten up my eyes too.

Swatchies!

Favourite Powder Blush: Dior Rosy Glow Healthy Glow Awakening Blush

Dior Rosy Glow Healthy Glow Awakening Blush

I wouldn’t call it my absolute favourite per say, as I can’t possibly single out one blush like that, but Dior Rosy Glow Healthy Glow Awakening Blush is probably my most used blush this year. It gives the prettiest, natural flush of healthy pink and lasts all day.

Favourite Cream Blush : YSL Crème de Blushes

They are amazing. They blend out like a dream, last all day and look so natural on the skin. I wish I could own them all!

YSL Crème de Blushes Red Agate

Favourite Lip Gloss: Marc Jacobs Beauty Lust For Lacquer Lip Vinyl, Buxom Full-Bodied Lip Glosses

Marc Jacobs Beauty Lust For Lacquer Lip Vinyl, Buxom Full-Bodied Lip Glosses

I have two that I really like the formula of. Marc Jacobs Beauty Lust For Lacquer Lip Vinyl feels so good on the lips, has nice pigmentation and lasts quite a long time. Wish they weren’t so bloody expensive! Buxom Full-Bodied Lip Glosses are another fave. I love the slight tingly sensation and they really do make my lips look bigger.

Favourite Lipsticks: Tom Ford Lipsticks and Make Up Forever Aqua Rouge

Tom Ford Lipsticks and Make Up Forever Aqua Rouge

I have two, and actually I could pick about 5 more. 2013 was The Year Of Lipsticks for me, as it’s the beauty product that I bought the most. Nothing can brighten your day like a new tube of lipstick! Tom Ford Lipsticks are hands down my favourite formula. So creamy, so moisturizing, so opaque-I love them. I’d own all of them if I could! Make Up Forever Aqua Rouges are my second fave. Nothing stays put like these babies, yet doesn’t dry out my lips.

Favourite Lip Balm: Jo Malone Vitamin E Lip Conditioner

Jo Malone Vitamin E Lip Conditioner

Jo Malone Vitamin E Lip Conditioner has been a long time fave of mine, but I don’t mention it a lot as I can’t get it in Canada for some STUPID reason. I think it’s because of the SPF15 in it, but c’mon Jo-get a DIN# already and sell it here so I don’t run out, K? Just one use of this lip balm, and it feels like I have somebody else’s lips and not the dry parched ones I’ve come accustomed to.

Favourite Fragrance: Jo Malone Velvet Rose & Oud

Jo Malone Velvet Rose & Oud

Jo Malone Velvet Rose & Oud is not an old lady rose fragrance and it’s by no means a gentle rose. It’s sweet, yet spicy as there’s cloves in the mix. A modern rose fragrance with a twist, it’s by far my favourite Jo Malone fragrance. It’s one of her Intense formulas, so the lasting power is better as well.

Favourite Bracelet:

This brass bracelet cuff with an Antique London Street Map showing the River Thames and London Bridge by JezebelCharms on Etsy. They make all sorts of items with literary references and I have a list of wants that keeps growing and growing…

Favourite Movie: The Hobbit:The Desolation Of Smaug

Yeah, YEAH I know-it’s not really Tolkien. But as I’ve gotten older, I don’t really care anymore about being a purist when it comes to books made into movies. I’d rather the movie be entertaining, and The Desolation Of Smaug is DEFINITELY that. I enjoy Peter Jackson’s embellishment of the story, and the character of Tauriel KICKS ASS. PLUS, there’s THIS guy to stare at:

HAHA, ok let’s see him again:

SIGH. I wanna be an elf REAL BAD.

My last favourite thing is all of you! I love interacting with all of you! Makes me SMILE. Thanks for stopping by every day! Here’s to 2014 being awesome to all of you!
