Bridal Makeup Looks 2016

Pure perfect complexions as always were a popular choice for all the blushing brides who donned the runways of this year’s bridal fashion week in autumn 2015 in preparation for 2016 trends. The bridal makeup let natural beauty shine through with sheer coverage and a radiant glow. Once the canvas was set all the designers took a different take on bridal beauty for 2016.  See which are  the bridal makeup trends this year…..

Natural Bridal Make Up

Get the look the radiant bridal makeup look with the following simple steps:

Prime the skin with Make Up Studio Pre Base to create a hydrated and nourished canvas. This product also contains protection against harmful UVB rays.

Correct any pigmentation using a colour correcting concealer such as Make Up Studio compact neutralisers which are a mix of colour correctors and concealers. Use Blue 1 or 2 under the eyes to conceal dark shadows and Red 1 or Red 2 is miraculous for concealing any blemishes or redness in the skin.

No transfer liquid foundation from Make Up Studio is available in a range of tones to suit all complexions. It has a medium coverage and contains silicon which when applied is activated making the product smudge proof to last a day of hugging!

Shade and contour the face using Make Up Studio Contouring Palette. Blend well to give a more natural finish.

Seal the make up using Natural Silk Perfection Powder from Make Up Studio. This light weight powder will make the make up last all day without feeling heavy or cakey on the skin. It is also important with bridal makeup to ensure the finish is matte and not to use highlighters as although they look great in reality they will reflect when the camera flashes and leave the bride looking white and washed out in her wedding photos.

Pink was certainly the bridal makeup colour of choice for designers such as Jenny Packham and Carolina Herrera. They all opted for pinkish blush to create a healthy youthful glow and pink tones on the lips to give that perfect kissable pout. Ines De Santo also took on this look but paired it with a heavy winged liner to give an added touch of glam for the more daring bride to be.

Apply the perfectly pinkie bridal makeup look with the following products:

Opt for a soft pink blush such as Make Up Studio Lumiere Blush in Sweet Pink to the apples of the cheeks to provide a soft rosy complexion.

Durable lip fluid from Make Up Studio in shade 11 is a winner for any bride. It is proven to last 18 hours and will not transfer or smudge. Apply a little of the clear gloss on the centre of the lips for a perfect pout. It is important for a bride to line the lips first using a lip coloured pencil to give definition to the lip but still maintain a natural finish. This will show up much better in her wedding photos as it creates more definition than just gloss or lipstick alone.

Eye Liner such as Make Up Studio Black cream eye liner can be applied thinly or with a thicker more dramatic wing depending on the look the bride prefers.

The bolder bride to be can take inspiration from Badgley Mischka who showcased crimson ombre lips. This will put an edgy and modern twist on the ‘vintage’ bridal makeup look and pairs perfectly with some cat eyes and Hollywood waves.

Bridal Make Up for Bolder Brides

Bridal Make Up with Smokey Eyes

For the bride who just cannot leave the house without a smokey eye, inspiration can be taken from the models of Galia Lahav who wore earthy smokey eyes created with more natural warm tones rather than flat, darker tones. Paired with some heavy lashes and glowing complexion, this makes for a flirty and playful bridal  makeup look.

Get these earthy smokey eyes using these shadows and eye definers:

Eyes shadow- Make Up Studio Lumiere eye shadows are baked shadows which have excellent pigment and do not create fall drop. These shadows can be used to create a flawless smokey eye.

Line the lash line with Make Up Studio Eye Definer to give definition to the lash line while keeping the eyes smokey and sultry. The pencil can be smudged to create a smokey liner effect also.

Apply a heavy layer of Make Up Studio 3d waterproof mascara to add length and volume to the lashes. Perfect for any tears that may be shed on the big day.

Make Up Studio also stock a selection of flirty lashes in strips or individual clusters to augment the brides natural lashes.

If a more colourful look has more appeal, Theia added pops of colour with maroon on either the eyes or lips or both!
