The Low Country Chapter of the American Guild of Organists is sponsoring a Hymn Festival to benefit Family Promise of Beaufort County. The Festival will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church, 24 Pope Ave., at 5:30 p.m. The venue has changed from Providence Presbyterian to accommodate more than 150 adult choir participants. The massed Choir will include members from 11 participating churches. The conductor will be Charles D. Frost from Sea Island Presbyterian Church on Lady’s Island and the organists will be Dr. JooSoo Son from Providence Presbyterian Church and Thomas M. Fierro from St. Peter Catholic Church. The Festival Choir will be accompanied by organ, handbells and Ceremonial Brass of Savannah, with tympani. A special treat will be the participation of children’s choirs from St. Helena Episcopal Church in Beaufort and The Baptist Church of Beaufort. They will join the Festival Choir in an arrangement of the Tallis Canon. The program will feature the Seasons of the Church Year. Hymns and anthems will be sung by both choir and congregation.
