Justin Bos and Matthew Gale charged in Edmonton armed robberies

EPS investigate five Edmonton armed robberies in under two weeks.

Two men, Justin Bos and Matthew Gale, have been charged in connection with a number of Edmonton armed robberies that occurred between March 27 and April 7.

According to Clair Seyler of the Edmonton Police Service, the robberies occurred at four convenience stores in Edmonton and one in Spruce Grove.

“At each location, the clerks working were threatened with a weapon, ranging from a crowbar to a cane and even a hand gun”, says Seyler.

The five robberies occurred at:

Convenience Store, Hermitage Road, March 27, 2014 at approximately 2:16 a.m.

Convenience Store, 157 – 66 Street, March 28, 2014 at approximately 1:00 a.m.

Convenience Store, 172 – 95 Avenue, April 2, 2014 at approximately 00:08 a.m.

Convenience Store, 189 – 87 Avenue, April 5, 2014 at approximately 06:49 a.m.

Convenience Store, Century Crossing, Spruce Grove, April 7, 2014 at approximately 04:49 a.m.

Clair Seyler says investigators believe stolen vehicles were used in some of the robberies where the accused allegedly demanded cigarettes, scratch-to-win lottery tickets and cash.

Edmonton police along with Spruce Grove RCMP investigated the robberies.  Officers from both police detachments conducted a search in the area of 149 St and Yellowhead Trail.  Seyler says police found cigarettes, clothing and cash which police believe came from the alleged robberies.  Police also found two stolen vehicles.

Justin Bos, 28, of no fixed address, is charged with 28 offences, including four counts of robbery, four counts of disguise with intent, six counts of breach of probation, two counts of possession of stolen property over $5000, two counts of possession of stolen property under $5000, five counts of possession of an offensive weapon,  using an imitation firearm while committing an offence, possession of a prohibited weapon, pointing a firearm, and possession of break-in instruments.

Matthew Gale, 22, is charged with possession of stolen property over $5000, possession of stolen property under $5000, and two counts of breach condition of a recognizance in connection with the April 2 robbery at 172 – 95 Avenue.
