Job Description / Responsibility

This is a national post to support CAFOD contracted Match Fund III programme in Bangladesh.

This role is locally line managed by Head of Food Agriculture and Markets programme of Practical Action and is task managed by the CAFOD Programme Officer and the CAFOD Country Representative for Afghanistan and Bangladesh.

The incumbent will have a number of key responsibilities including; to monitor and manage programme reporting by partners, both narrative and financial, ensuring the reports comply with the donor requirements and standards; ensure partners understanding, support the development and follow the programme monitoring framework; ensure regular coordination with relevant stakeholders; ensure the programme is in line with relevant government policies and liaise with government officials and networks where necessary; encourage and facilitate the sharing of skills among stakeholders; develop and nurture partner relationships, undertake frequent travel; liaise with the CAFOD team in the UK; liaise with DfID in Bangladesh when required;

Location: From 1st July 2015 to 30th June 2018 the position will based in the northern districts of Rajshahi, Dinajpur or Mymensingh (to be agreed).

Additional Job Requirements

At least 5 years work experience in a similar role

Experience and understanding of faith based organisations and partnership approaches to international development

Demonstrates sectoral knowledge of climate resilient agriculture, alternative livelihoods and marketing, DRR and food security in the context of Bangladesh

Excellent written English skills with demonstrable experience of compiling institutional donor reports, translations, communication documents and emails. Demonstrated spoken English skills including leading meetings, providing translation from Bangla and regular Skype calls with the Programme Officer based in London.

Excellent financial management skills with experience in collating and compiling institutional donor financial reports.

Understanding of effective partner NGO (PNGO) work and desirable experience working as part of a consortium of organisations.

Self-motivated and takes the initiative, working remotely to deliver timely results

Sensitively manages and facilitates relations with CAFOD’s own position with a variety of stakeholders (NGOs, faith-based partners, INGOs, government officials, CSOs etc.)

Ability to identify support needs and provide capacity building to CAFOD partners where required.

Demonstrated experience in line managing and supporting staff to achieve their potential.

Other Benefits

Salary Gross: BDT 11,12,917 per year. In addition, a Hospitalization and Group Insurance facilities will be provided.
