What's a double album nowadays?

NW?! was released as a single cd but as a double Lp.

To me the number of tracks doesn't matter, as long as they're all distinctive.

Abandon has a few tracks I have a hard time telling apart from one another, NW?! has all very distinctive and interesting tracks.

I wish for something as uplifting as NW?!

Here are some artists who released Double CD, not double vinyl LP, in the 21st century, does not includes 1960s to 1990s.

Judas Priest - Nostradamus (2008)
Eagles - Long road out of eden (2007)
Nine Inch Nails - Ghosts (2008)
Green Day - Uno Does Tree (2012)
Foo Fighters - In your honor (2005)
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Stadium arcadium (2006)
Dream Theater - Six degrees (2002)
Prince - Lotus flower (2009)
Neil Young & Crazy Horse - Psychedelic pill (2012)
Spock's Beard - Snow (2002)

What you think of these artists and their double CDs?

Indeed some bands have a lot of material to do a good double cd.

From that list, I like the Red Hot, Dream theater, NIN.

I thought the FOO and the Prince were too long (should have been a single cd), as for the rest (except for JP (which imho is a disaster), I haven't heard them.

May I recommend in that list Spock's Beard's "Snow" one of the best albums of the last decade, in my opinion
