The requirements for BUT Commom unit admission test 2013-14 will be published here.
In 2012,
Applicants must be citizen of Bangladesh.
Applicants must have GPA 4.0 (without 4th subject) in scale of 5.0 in SSC/ Dakhil / equivalent exam from any Secondary & Higher Secondary Education Board/ Madrasah Board/ Technical education Board or equivalent grade from foreign education Board.
Applicants must have minimum GPA 4.0 (without 4th subject) in scale of 5.0 in Science Group in HSC or equivalent exam from any Secondary & Higher Secondary Education Board/ Madrasah Board/ Technical education Board in 2011/2012, average grade point 4.5 & total GP 13.00 in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and individually grade point 3.5 at HSC or equivalent level.
GCE “O” & “A” level passed applicants must have minimum B grade in 5 subjects at O – level and minimum B grade in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics at A level exam. D grade in any subject is not acceptable. Applicants will get an Equivalence Certificate by paying Tk.1000/- to Finance and Accounting Department & apply with attested photocopies of Registration card, Marksheets, Certificates of “O” & “A” level exam to Equivalence Committee of Bangladesh Textile University between 21st October, 2012.

Apparel Manufacturing Engineering, Fabric Manufacturing Engineering, Fashion & Design, Textile Management, Yarn Manufacturing Engineering.

How to Apply for Bangladesh University of Textiles (BUT) Admission Test- Commom unit 2013-14
The admission seekers would be able to buy the admission forms through mobile phone SMS service. One needs a Teletalk Prepaid connection for the purpose.
Applicants have to type on their mobile phone ‘BUT’, space, the first three letters of the educational board of their HSC examination, space, HSC roll number, space, passing year, space, desired unit (A, B, C or D) and send the message to 16222.

Applicants for quota: the above rules apply to the following specific quota of 16 222 SMS number tracked as follows – The child of freedom fighter quota (FFQ)

* The first three letter of Board name will write for the Barisal(BAR), Chittagong (CHI), Comilla (COM), Dhaka (DHA), Dinajpur (DIN), Jessore (JES), Madrasah (MAD), Chittagong (RAJ), Sylhet (SYL), Vocational (VOC), Diploma in Business Studies (DIS), Diploma in Commerce (DIC), Diploma in Business Management (HBM).
If the information is correct, a confirmation SMS will be sent with the name of applicant, admission fee and a valid pin number. To complete the application process, one needs to send another SMS to 16222 typing ‘BUT’ followed by space, yes, space, and contact number. Example: BUT(space)YES(space)654321(space) 01XXXXXXXXX
Applicants can use Teletalk mobile phone for multiple application, in the second stage of the approval of application applicants can use any operator -’s another mobile phone number for communication.
‘O’ / ‘A’ level in accordance with rule applicants will be SMS TO 16222 number. GCE will be put in place Board Name. Example:BUT(space)GCE(space)123456(space)2011(space)A
Here, 123456 in place of the applicant’s respective candidate number will mount.
Open University or from abroad HSC / equivalent examination candidates will write OTH in the place of Board Name. Example: BUT(space)OTH(space)123456(space)2012(space)A
