I'm going to try and take my first deer this fall with bow and arrow, and thought what better way than with a bow I made myself, possibly the arrows too. One of my friends does wood working, so we've been working for some time together building molds for the limbs, learning about the limb laminations, how to create the correct poundage etc. The limbs really are the most difficult part of the process.

We made a prototype out of plywood that my buddy used to enter Canada's Best Handyman show with, unfortunately he was cut after the first episode, but still a pretty cool experience for him.

I have a great selection of exotic woods to use, jatoba, bubinga, zebra, walnut, cocobolo and purple heart. If anyone has experience with this chime in. I'll provide some build pics if there's interest.

Here's what I have to play with for woods.

If you're into wood working post up some of your projects!
