(Security/Law Enforcement) POSITION TITLE: Integrated Systems Technician
DEPARTMENT: Paladin Security Systems Ltd. - Vancouver
REPORTS TO: Regional Manager, Vancouver

SCOPE:

This position is responsible for the installation, service and maintenance of integrated security systems with an emphasis on commercial grade access control and video surveillance systems including Lenel, Keyscan, Avigilon and Pelco products. The Integrated Systems Technician works closely with our Project Managers and valued clients in order to provide a well-coordinated, efficient and highly responsive installation and service effort. Many of our system applications are highly technical and require creative solutions; therefore, technical expertise will be an important component of our successful system design, planning and implementation.

TYPICAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Develop and maintain excellent relationships with our staff and clients.
- Effectively communicate with our sales, service & project management team.
- Plan and coordinate work by surveying and evaluating location, identifying site specific requirements, laying-out equipment needs and developing plans of action.
- Travel to customer sites as required to install, commission, troubleshoot, service and maintain integrated security systems including software, hardware and peripheral devices.
- Train end users on system functionality.
- Maintain records by documenting installations, service and maintenance.
- Stay current on new and related technology including attending company funded product training courses.
- Maintain a safe and secure work environment by following safety practices.
- Coordinate and communicate with site I.T. departments.
- Keep all company information strictly confidential.
- Accomplish organizational goals by accepting ownership of new and varying requests, exploring opportunities and adding value to our services
- Pay very close attention to detail and always take pride in quality workmanship.
- Provide technical support and assistance to our sales, system design and project management team as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience

- Minimum of five years security industry experience including installation, troubleshooting and service of access control and video surveillance systems.
- A high level of computer literacy on multiple MS platforms.
- Comprehensive knowledge of access control and CCTV products including Lenel, Keyscan, Kantech, Bosch and Pelco.

Skills and Abilities

- Our Installation Technician will be resourceful, thoughtful, insightful, honest and reliable.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- I.T./network infrastructure knowledge and experience would be a valued asset.
- Must be bondable and undergo a basic security clearance.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Current and valid BC security alarm installer license.
- BC Trade Qualification (TQ) is a valued asset.
