Happy Monday

Good morning. Let's watch that Ian McCoshen game winning goal to send BC to Phily a couple dozen hundred more times:

That was enjoyable.

NCAA Hockey Tournament: Johnny Gaudreau tries to head the puck into the net (GIF) (SB Nation College Hockey)

The player formally known as Johnny Hockey showed why he's earned his moniker with a creative shot on goal.

ANOTHER GIF!

I really wish this had gone in the net, just to see what the referees would have done. "Distinct heading motion."

BC advances to Frozen Four with 4-3 win over UMass-Lowell - Sports - The Boston Globe

Freshman blueliner Ian McCoshen was the unlikely hero Sunday night when his goal at 11:16 of the third period broke a 3-3 deadlock and lifted the Eagles to a 4-3 victory over UMass-Lowell in the NCAA Northeast Regional final, propelling BC into the NCAA Frozen Four in Philadelphia in two weeks.

This was the Hockey East prize fight that never was. It's often hard to live up to the expectations of an instant classic before the puck is even dropped, but Boston College and Massachusetts-Lowell certainly delivered on Sunday.

College Hockey News: Freshmen Steal Spotlight for Boston College

McCoshen's goal came off a feed from his sophomore defensive partner, Teddy Doherty and he blasted it into the gaping net with relative ease after Hellebuyck made a diving effort to the left post. "Ian's always talking," Doherty said. "He's one of the louder guys on the team. I was thinking shoot all the way, and he was screaming and thankfully I passed it over and he made a nice shot."

It was the classic matchup. The Irresistible Force against the Immovable Object...

For only the second time all season with Hellebuyck in net, the River Hawks had given up more than three goals.

"Systematically, I wouldn't change too many things," Lowell coach Norm Bazin said. "I thought we played well. It was one of the best hockey games we played in the last three or four. However, we came out on the short end. It was the third period that did us in."

Wowza, that bolded quote.

Chris Snee reflects on career, talks 2014 (giants.com)

If this is Snee's last season, he's not going to spend a lot of time being reflective or nostalgic. "I'll give it another two months and then I don't want to talk about it," he said. "When my last training camp is over, will I celebrate with a nice cold one? Probably. But once the season starts, I don't want to even think about it, I don't want to talk about it. As the season goes along, if it becomes apparent that that will be my last home game, it will be tough."

HopkinsBCWatch: Tommy Amaker Staying At Harvard, Is Hopkins Plan B? (Troy Nunes Is An Absolute Magician)

I don't know why but I remain unconvinced he's going. The USC job seemed like the perfect fit for the California-native. Back in his element and with a chance to make his mark elsewhere. Does he really want to be an immediate rival with Boeheim & SU? I guess we'll find out soon enough, I'm sure BC doesn't want to prolong the process.

Amaker takes himself out of running for BC basketball job - Sports - The Boston Globe

With Amaker out of the mix, BC focused its attention on Syracuse assistant Mike Hopkins, who was in Boston Saturday for an interview, according to sources familiar with the search.

I am also out of the running for the BC basketball coaching job, as a heads up.

Enjoy your Monday and start making those travel plans. PHILLY!
