VACATION WARNING: I'll be taking two weeks off from the blog for the holiday starting, well, right now. Yes, I know the timing is unfortunate given that the Comm. Ave. circus cannon is being primed as we speak. Rest assured you're in good hands with the rest of the crew. I'll pop in and out to bump interesting FanPosts and may even write a post or two, but for the most part I'll be M.I.A. for the next two weeks. Happy Thanksgiving, and all that good stuff.

I wanted to take the time to thank all of our community members and readers for their contributions throughout the year. It's been one hell of a football season and without your contributions, writing this site would be excruciatingly painful. Mercifully, the end is near. Go Eagles!

The 10 wildest games in ACC history (Fox Sports Carolinas)
8. Boston College 14, Virginia Tech 10, 2007. The No. 8 Hokies dominated the first 57 minutes of action, owning a 10-0 lead before Matt Ryan and the No. 2 Eagles exploded on a chilly October Thursday night in Blacksburg, Va. Ryan threw two touchdowns in the final 2:11, including the game winner to Andre Callender with 11 seconds left to lift Boston College to the improbable victory to remain unbeaten at 8-0. The Eagles lost to Florida State and Maryland in their next two games.

Does Boston College Basketball Have A Chance Against Baylor? (Soaring To Glory)
These two programs have no history at all, and yet, they do. Boston College and Baylor have never before met in basketball, but one of Baylor’s best shooters is the cause of the link between these teams.

Charleston Classic preview: Auburn will set the tone for the season in the Holy City (College and Magnolia)
Baylor, predicted to finish near the top, if not the top, of the Big 12, meets a young Boston College that should finish the season near the bottom of the ACC. With a strong Baylor backcourt to compensate for any missteps in the less proven frontcourt and a fantastic bench, it will be a long afternoon for Boston College.

The Boston College Eagles (1-0) struggled slightly with Richard Pitino's Florida International team, but space the floor well and can knock off oppoenents with the three-point shot. Former Cornell coach Steve Donohue's team is filled with shooting options, from freshman guard Olivier Hanlan to ACC All-Freshman forward Ryan Anderson. Eight Players to Watch at the 2012 Charleston Classic (ESPN)
With 12 of its 15 players on the roster being freshman or sophomores, Boston College is using that youth to its advantage; this current unit has 118 starts, contributes 75 percent of its scoring, 73 percent of its assists, and 70 percent of its rebounds and minutes. Some of the most important of those points, rebounds, assists, and minutes belong to sophomore forward Ryan Anderson. The versatile forward became only the 11th freshman in Big East (!) history to lead his team in scoring and rebounding, and led all ACC first-year players in scoring while ranking second among ACC freshmen in rebounding.

Ryan Anderson’s Breakout Potential Makes Boston College One Team That Should Not Be Overlooked This Season (NESN.com)
Anderson’s commitment to BC was a bit of a coup, as the former California Mr. Basketball and Gatorade Player of the Year chose Chestnut Hill over West Coast powerhouses Arizona, Cal, Washington and San Diego State. Donahue’s selling point was likely that Anderson would be the team’s best player immediately and help elevate the program back to a national level. Through at least one game, Anderson looked poised to make good on both parts of that plan.

Team of the Week: Boston College (College Hockey News)
"Games like (Sunday's against BU) help both of our teams get better," York said. "We push each other. Win or lose, we’re going to be better because of the game we played. They benefit both teams — the skating, the checking — just good hockey for both teams."
