Bristol Community FM have been granted an new extention of their licence which was due to expire in March 2017.

The double Sony Gold Radio Academy winning station had to illustrate to ofcom a new 5 year plan on how they would continue to serve the communites of Bristol, giving in depth financial and practical projections.

BCfm Radio will now broadcast until March 2022 which will take the pioneering station to 15 years of serving the city. With an ever increasing array of online stations and restricted service licences (RSL's) cropping up almost daily, BCfm have continued to increase their market share of the FM audience but also dramatically increase audience via their online platforms too which includes availability via their website but also tunein radio and their own BCfm app for smartphones and tablets.

CEO Patrick Hart has greeted the news by saying "In the face of some really difficult times BCfm Radio has continued to flourish and improve the output for the people of Bristol. We are undoubtedly Bristol's most diverse radio station and now an established part of Bristol life. We're excited to be celebrating 10 years of broadcasting in March 2017 with a series of events culminating in a celebration being put on by our Elected Mayor Marvin Rees on our actual 10th birthday (26th March). We have an amazing group of volunteers and also give much thanks to the work of Phil Gibbons, Joanne Schofield, Carlton Romaine and so many others who helped found the station nearly 10 years ago, we honour them by contuing that work in moving the station to even greater heights and a more sustainable future"

BCfm Radio have over 70 weekly programmes as part of the schedule and broadcast 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
