Today was one of those episodes where I found myself feeling bipolar. During one moment, I felt so low, incredulous to what was occurring on my screen. The next, it was the ultimate high, with the greatest actress and couple this decade of B&B has seen shining through once more. But lets start with a little bit of middle ground, shall we?

It should be soap opera law by now that when someone is very excited about something, it is likely to end in failure. I have been on board with CaRidge from the beginning. I enjoy the fact that they make Brooke squirm and dive into the bottle. Their unexpected chemistry has been a breath of fresh air over the last months. And while I too was excited that Eric was coming home so quickly, I should have taken Caroline and Ridge’s over excitement as a sign of impending disappointment. The only thing worse than Maya as she currently is, is the idea of Maya being able to laugh in the face of Ridge and Caroline when their idealism is shunned by reality. While I credit Ridge with the fact that everything he said is clearly the right course of action, he should know by now that Eric has a reputation of making disappointing and irrational decisions when it comes to Brooke and his family with Brooke. And it appears that today was no different…

How foolish of me to think that Eric returning might mean we would finally be freed of Rick Forrester’s tyranny! Eric instead came back and not only accepted everything that Rick had done, but basically applauded it. Nothing more than a “don’t do that again” in terms of firing shots in the corporate headquarters?? Eric claims that the company’s quarter sales are excellent – why is that though? May that have something to do with all that Caroline and Ridge created and their talent in Q4 2014, most of which Rick was not in ultimate control? Eric’s idiocy continues to reach almost intolerable levels. This may be unpopular, but perhaps it is time for Eric to disappear for good, however that needs to come about. Stephanie must be rolling over in her grave as Eric tells Rick to keep Maya’s picture up and continue to stay in he and Stephanie’s manor! Eric is going to leave for the guest house and bring Stephanie’s photo with him? Did Eric hit his head several times during his adventures with John? ABSURDITY!

And then… Steam happens. I like Ivy a whole lot, and it is partially refreshing that Ivy has such confidence in her relationship. However, it is also a sign that she may not know Liam as well as she thinks she does. This man has nearly made a living over pining after the woman he was once with but isn’t currently with. If Liam wants to keep this completely professional, he should have asked to meet Steffy at the office, not their old house. Liam frankly asks for it sometime and I have no sympathy for his stupidity. Granted, it is possible that Liam is playing into this with the hope that it will give him the stocks he so desires. However, Liam also has made clear that his feelings for Steffy always have been and always will be real. If he isn’t careful, he may end up hurting multiple women yet again. The silver lining in all of this – that chemistry, those moments, that magic of Steam on screen cannot be topped. It is unbelievable how two actors can make something so perfect happen.

Maybe it is the greatness of JMW or the greatness of Steam, but regardless of everything these two have been through, they still shine on screen. It is obvious that SC means it when he says he prefers Steam. SC and JMW just clearly have the most fun with this pairing. It is as if Steffy and JMW were simultaneously asking how Liam could forget how fun these two are together. Liam just can’t help himself – when it comes to Steffy, it proves difficult time and time again to say no. For someone who is so committed to Ivy, he certainly wasn’t fighting Steffy off. The banter about Bill and Brooke, the fun dialogue, the way they move in each other’s presence – it’s all just fire for these two and it seems it always will be, even when Liam is at his worst. One minute, you just want Liam to stop talking to Steffy and for Steffy to move on. The next, you witness how incredible this pairing is and can be – the chemistry, the heat, the fun, the connection – everything that makes a great couple click. I am not naive enough to believe this will last at all long, but after being without JMW for so long, you better be sure that I know to enjoy JMW, Steffy, and Steam for all the magical moments they are worth.

Stay bold and beautiful… like JMW/Steffy in that bikini… WOW!!
