Primary Purpose:

Under the leadership of the Dean, identify and implement effective recruiting strategies, prospective student communications, and outreach programs. Activities include coordination and oversight of on-and-off campus recruiting events, management of comprehensive communication plan within a customer relationship management system, and thorough data analysis for evaluation of recruitment programming. Assistant Director of Recruitment and Outreach supervises the Recruitment and Outreach team.

Works under the general supervision of the Dean of Admissions and Registration, who sets goals, monitors activities, and evaluates performance

Job Functions

1. Develop and implement recruiting strategies for admissions goals set by the University leadership and Dean of Admissions and Registration. Identify specific methods with knowledge of Kuwait standards and best practices for admissions professionals as it relates to events, activities, planning, technology, marketing, social networking, etc. Manage recruitment activities in a way that represents GUST in a positive and responsible manner, promoting excellence within recruiting efforts.

2. Provide leadership in developing and monitoring the University's prospective student communication plan, using multi-channel communications that align with set targets according to demographic, program of interest, country, etc.

3. Oversee high school recruiting initiatives with in-district high schools, including regular visits, attendance at various high school events and fairs, and placement testing during spring semester. Produce and deliver regular University information newsletters to all in-district high school staff; co-produce a bi-annual newsletters for all Kuwait high school juniors and seniors; other activities and events as directed. Schedule recruiting visits to select government and private high schools.

4. Oversee coordination of on-campus and off-campus recruiting related events including, but not limited to, University 101, Preview Day, VIP Counselor Luncheon, Getting Started Sessions, and specialized high school placement testing. Participate in other campus events such as new student advising and financial aid events.

5. Oversee and manage an information system to ensure proper tracking of recruits, all GUST recruiting activities and communications. Ensure accurate and meaningful reporting.

6. Coordinate recruiting activities for both Colleges (Business and Arts and Sciences). Working closely with campus administrators determine appropriate strategies for each community, as it relates to college recruitment plan and admissions goals.

7. Assist the Dean of Admissions and Registration and the Colleges in the development of program brochures, program inserts and related promotional materials.

8. Develop and coordinate a social services outreach program. Build relationships with the Community to explore potential partnerships and facilitate their higher education needs.

9. Develop and monitor statistical reports to enhance and evaluate recruitment strategies.

10. Direct Supervision Recruitment and Outreach employees.

Additional Job Functions

1. Represent Recruitment perspective in task force and committee assignments.

2. Assist with planning commencement services.
