General Responsibilities
• Responsible for the overall day to day operations, management, & maintenance of site equipment for (100,000 mt grain)
• Responsible for storage, handling, quality control, testing, weighing and maintain the quality
• Manages security, process, procedures of grain within the storage site
• Leads, manages and develops the Storage (Site) Operations team
• Manages on site bagging operations
• Coordination of onsite activities of receival; storage;outturn and bagging of grains
• Projects or ad-hoc duties as assigned by the Manager or his/her designee from time to time
Specific Responsibilities
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
• Develop and implement health, safety and environment policies and procedures to ensure HSE obligations are fulfilled
• Develop and train all employees in their HSE obligations in their roles including reporting of hazards, near-misses and accidents
People
• Supervise, lead and coach a productive team on a single grain storage “bunker” and bagging through effective and ongoing communications to achieve the Company objectives (up to 20 employees)
• Organise resourcing levels and rosters (i.e. casuals) to adequately meet delivery schedules
• Develop and conduct performance appraisals to ensure each individuals performance is on track and/or provide feedback accordingly
• Continuously motivate and reward individuals who continuously demonstrate company’s core values and achieve performance targets
• Provide training and development to improve an individual’s skill set and ensure licences/qualifications are maintained
• Communicate and ensure Hassad’s Corporate Governance Policies and Procedures, including the Code of Conduct is adhered to
Reporting
• Prepare monthly operational reports to communicate performance metrics including grain inventory, supply and movement
• Ensure all records in the areas of safety, logistics, procurement, human resources, inventory etc. is maintained in an orderly and logistically manner
• Outstanding communication and presentation skills within all levels of organization
Storage / Bagging Operations
• Instigator and executor of all operational activities on site from conception to implementation
• Responsible for the overall security, storage, handling and bagging of grain on site
• Ensures effective and efficient coordination of the logical movement of grain into and out of the site to meet DIFOT performance metrics
• Organises the coordination of receival trucks for bulk grain in to and out of the site; bagging and loading of trucks for delivery of grain to various customers and distribution centres
• Report and document the dispatch and receipt of stock/goods. Ensure invoice/receipts meet contracts and comply with company audit procedures and standards
• Maintain safety stock levels in accordance to demand planning schedule
• Ensure inventory is stored appropriately to ensure safety and quality standards
• Ensure periodic quality controls and checks of stock including testing, weighing grain,fumigation
• Assist in stock counts on a continual basis, check for current placement and identification of stock
