Santa Clara 4th of July Fireworks & Live Bands – Come celebrate Independence Day 2013 with live music, food trucks and a fireworks show in Central Park starting at 5 pm on July 4, 2013.

The finale will be a fantastic Fireworks Extravaganza at 9:30 pm with patriotic music and the sky ablaze with colors and special effects.

The Groove Kings, a soul inspired rock ‘n roll band, will take the stage at 7:30 pm.

Festivities will begin on the stage adjacent to the Community Recreation Center (969 Kiely Blvd.) with live entertainment starting at 5 pm featuring the Buchser Middle School Jazz Band and the De´ja` Vu Jazz Band, directed by David Ladd Anderson.

Grab a bite to eat along Kiely Blvd Food Truck Row, or grab a snack from one of the local non-profit organizations supporting the event. Bring money for food.

Cupertino Fourth of July 2013 Fireworks Show – Confirmed for 2013, the City of Cupertino hosts their annual small town Fourth of July fireworks show with viewing locations at three different parks in the city.

Gather for viewing the fireworks starting at 6:45p at either Creekside Park, Hyde Middle School or Sedgwick Elementary School with live music, games and picnics. Fireworks set off from Cupertino High School at 9:30pm.

Come early and bring your picnic – But no pets, no portable barbeques, no alcohol

9:30 pm:

Fireworks set off at Cupertino High School (no viewing area at the high school)

Getting There: Please be aware that this is small town event and space is extremely limited. Streets will be closed from 6pm to midnight and the city will be aggressively towing cars parking on portions of Finch Ave, Tilson Ave. and Miller Ave.

2013 Cupertino Parking Restrictions:

6pm to Midnight

No parking on Finch Ave. and Tilson Ave. (between Finch Ave. and Tantau Ave.)

No parking on Miller Ave. (between Greenwood Dr. and Howard Ct.)

Vehicles will be towed.

San Jose 4th of July Fireworks Celebration – For the fifth year in the row the minor league San Jose Giants baseball club comes to the rescue even thought the city of San Jose is not hosting an official 4th of July Fireworks show.

The Giants hosts the Visalia Rawhide at 6:30pm (with tickets as low as $11) but more importantly from anywhere near the stadium you can watch the post-game fireworks show for free. Fireworks at approx. 9:30pm

Free Fireworks Viewing Locations

The community is invited to watch the fireworks show for free on July 4, 2013 on the San Jose State University Soccer Field next to Spartan Stadium or at Kelley Park. Blankets and chairs allowed.

All viewing areas will open at 5:00 PM

Tailgating will be restricted from parking lots and viewing areas, with no alcohol allowed.

No viewing will be permitted on the streets and no coolers are allowed on University property.

The game will be broadcasted live on Comcast Hometown Network Channel 104 along with the postgame fireworks show.

Morgan Hill Old-Fashioned 4th of July Parade & Fireworks – Over 50,000 spectators are expected downtown for the Morgan Hill July 4th Parade preceded by 8th Annual Liberty Car Cruise which includes a display of decorated vintage and collector cars on July 4, 2013.

At dusk, the free fireworks show launches over Morgan Hill from the south fields for crowds exceeding 20,000. For 2013 there is a new venue, the Morgan Hill Outdoor Sports Center with more parking ($10) and easier access than previous years.

Hollister Fourth of July Kiddie Parade & Fireworks – Hollister’s Annual Kiddie Parade will be held at 10am on Wednesday, July 4, 2013 beginning at Veteran’s Memorial Park and ending at Marguerite Maze Middle School. Children of all ages are welcome to participate: walk, ride, roller skate or roller blade. All children receive a free American flag before and cookies & punch at the conclusion of the parade.

The annual community fireworks display will take place on July 4th at dusk at the field adjacent to Marguerite Maze Middle School.

Kiddie Parade & Fireworks Show 2013: Although it’s not listed on the city of Hollister website, we have confirmed with the city that the Kiddie parade and fireworks show is indeed scheduled for 2013.

Picnics and Parades

Saratoga Costumed Old-Fashioned 4th of July & Free Popsicles – If you’re looking for a reason to wear that Uncle Sam costume you’ve got in your closet, then Saratoga’s 2013 Independence Day Observance is the place for you on July 4, 2013.

Held at Kevin Moran Park, the event will feature a Color Guard presentation of the flag, patriotic song sing-alongs, costumed historical characters, and free popsicles.

Cupertino July 4th Free Swimming Day – Families and kids are invited to Blackberry Farm in Cupertino for a free day of swimming live music and BBQ for the Annual July 4th celebration for 2013.

San Jose Rose, White & Blue Parade & Street Festival – Enjoy some old-fashioned traditional fun as the annual Rose, White & Blue Parade winds through the Rose Garden neighborhood ending on San Jose’s The Alameda on July 4, 2013.

This homespun parade features live bands, dance groups, home-made floats, kids on bikes, antique cars, and more.

Following the parade attendees will enjoy a picnic on The Alameda featuring live music, food trucks, food and drinks from local restaurants (for purchase) from 11 am to 3 pm.

Parade Route: The parade begins at 10 am from the staging area at West San Carlos and Shasta Ave and winds through the charming and historic streets of the Shasta/Hanchett neighborhood, ending at the festival area located near Lenzen and The Alameda.

Santa Cruz Old Fashioned Independence Day 1913 Celebration – Travel back in time a hundred years at Wilder Ranch State Park in Santa Cruz County on July 4, 2013 to experience an old-fashioned Independence Day Celebration 1913 style with a family parade at noon, flag raising ceremony, draft horse rides, living history demonstrations and more.

To join in the parade, meet at 11:45 a.m. at the apple orchard in front of the Highway 1 tunnel and join in the parade. Bring a musical instrument or noisemaker, dress in 1913 costume or pull a decorated wagon.

Try the cake walk, historic lawn games, draft horse wagon rides, crafts, and listen to live 1913 music. There will be food and drink for sale; ice cream cones, strawberry shortcake, dill pickles, watermelon, root beer and hand squeezed lemonade, or bring your own picnic lunch. Bratwurst USA and Lily’s Roasted Corn will be selling food at family prices. Bank will exchange your 2013 dollars into 1913 tokens.

Free. Festivities run from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Wilder Ranch State Park is located 2 miles north of Santa Cruz on Highway 1. The event is free; the $10 day use parking fee applies per car. For more event information, call (831) 426-0505.

Aptos World’s Shortest 4th of July Parade – Billed as “The World’s Shortest Parade” at just two city blocks, this small town parade has enough pageantry to last two hours on July 4, 2013.

The 0.6 mile parade means the city of Aptos (a town just east of Santa Cruz along the Pacific) will once again celebrate the 4th of July in mini-grand ole style.

Los Gatos 4th of July Hometown Games, Symphony & Picnic – The 2013 Los Gatos hometown Independence Day celebration offers fun for the whole family. On Thursday, July 4, 2013, play games, partake in Yankee Doodle Dancing and savor traditional BBQ favorites.

Stay awhile and soak in the sun while listening to the patriotic sounds of the San Jose Wind Symphony. The day promises to be full of patriotic summertime fun for all.

2013 Event Schedule

11 am-1:30 pm: Hometown Picnic & Games (Civic Center) – The day will begin with some good ol’ family fun including games provided by LGS Recreation and TeenForce, and entertainment by the Sizzling Seniors.

11 am-1:30 pm: Red, White, & Blue BBQ (Civic Center) – Delicious BBQ favorites and ice cold drinks will be available for purchase.

1:30-3:30 pm: Strike Up the Band (Los Gatos High School front lawn) – The traditional San Jose Wind Symphony concert will begin with a Flag Raising Ceremony and Mayor’s Welcome, followed by an afternoon of marches, popular tunes and patriotic songs. They’ll also honor our local service men and women with a Yellow Ribbon Ceremony at intermission.

3:30-4:30 pm: Yankee Doodle Dancing (Civic Center) – Get ready for an old fashioned toe tappin’, finger snappin’ good time with a performance by the Peninsula Banjo Band.
