Beauty Bloggers are a dime a dozen. I say this as a beauty blogger.
There are so many videos and bloggers to sift through. A million more videos about winging liner and smoking eyes. Thousands of gorgeous gals armed with brushes and lipsticks loaded. Some useful, but many I find tedious. Same wing, same smoke. Same look, different girl.
The exceptions are exceptional though.
You hunt through YouTube to find such underrated makeup ladies, especially SFX ladies! So I decided to combine my two favourites in the world. SFX and women. Since it's October, and all of us wants to look our best (worst?), I've compiled my favourite SFX artists on YouTube!
These five ladies are my personal favourites, and I hope at least one becomes your favourite too. So, let's go!

It wouldn't be a proper SFX post if I didn't highlight Mykie.
The winner of the NYX Face Awards this year, she is truly an inspiration. She succeeds in the glam and the gore of makeup and what it can create. From gelatin hearts to toxic mermaids, Mykie always knows how to creep and delight. Also, just her personality alone makes you want to subscribe. Loud, infectious, and natural boldness that you rarely find on YouTube.
It's hard to choose my favourite look from her. My bias got the best of me, and her Wicked-inspired makeup tutorial is grand. Emulating the Wicked Witch of The West, her Elphaba establishes the gore from the glam.

Good evening, Lexbots...
Lex is arguably one of the best body painters on YouTube, at least in my opinion. She shows you how to create looks from Inside Out characters to creepy monsters with just body paint. While she does not do as much SFX, she does have great informative videos up around October time. Go check her out!
Her recent two-part series, Insta-Glam is a hilarious satire. She explores internet fame and glory, without being too mean. I love the Zombie portion though. There is something amusing about being a mindless zombie of society.

How amazing is Kiana Jones? Like freaking amazing.
Among all the Youtube peeps, Kiana provides the most realistic looks you will ever see in your life. She is an intermediate and uses advanced techniques. Her videos features detailed information on how she creates and applies. Cross our fingers and hope we can recreate it. I admire how much effort and labour taken, not just in her video quality, but content as well. Her looks are horrific, realistic, and just darn awesome.
Of course, I was going to feature her How to Become A Zombie tutorial. She's most well-known for her awesome zombies. Using a latex prosthetic she made, it gives you a little bit of sense to how incredible she is.

Calm, collected and so cool.
I've followed her for the longest time. Maybe five years or so. Klaire de Lys has evolved since. Now a musician and an author, I wonder how she still manages to do such creative looks every single week. Her series, The Zodiacs and Real Life Disney are absolute joys to watch! Her looks are never boring, and always original. She provides great makeup looks for both beginners and professionals. I still get goosebumps looking at all her amazing creations.
What made me fall in love with her was this old Terminator look done years ago. In addition to making me hit 'Subscribe' all those years ago, it also began my love for SFX. Because of that, I will always be a fan. Thank you so much, Klaire.

How did I just find this channel, seriously how?
Elli Rosander is the resident makeup artist on Ellimacssfx. She creates such fun SFX makeup perfect to creep everyone out. Along with Mac who produces, they make such high quality videos. They will keep you amused and informed throughout. They use easy techniques to create great looks from demons to elephants. I'd watch out for these guys.
My favourite SFX makeup of theirs has to be The Voodoo Doll. Not only is it realistic, it is simple to make with products you might have already. Look at that makeup! How creepy is that?! Very, it is very creepy.
There you go! My favourite SFX ladies on YouTube. They are so fun, and so interesting to watch. Take just ten minutes of your day to watch their videos. I assure you will get hooked. SFX is such a small niche, but these women dominate the scene. They blend the lines between beauty and gore in such a creative way,
I hope you enjoy this, and find someone new to subscribe to on YouTube. I may sound like a broken record but they truly are amazing. I'd love to know though...
Who are your favourite ladies on YouTube? Who do you love?
