Minor league free agent pickup Brian Bogusevic, a versatile 29-year-old outfielder, hit .319/.418/.512 with 10 homers in 304 plate appearances at Triple-A Iowa. His .929 OPS ranked second among qualified Pacific Coast League outfielders, behind only the Rockies’ Corey Dickerson, who also got called up last week. In search of middle-infield depth for low Class A Fort Wayne, the Padres signed old friend Tyler Stubblefield from the Frontier League, where he was hitting .305/.376/.486 in 105 at-bats for Southern Illinois. San Diego released the 25-year-old Stubblefield, a 22nd-round pick from Kennesaw State in 2010, at the end spring training this year.
