Casey Turgeon (3-for-4, R, RBI) and Harrison Bader (2-for-4, 2 RBI) led the Florida offense Friday in support of Logan Shore (6 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K), and Eric Hanhold worked two hitless innings for the save, entering in a tight spot in the eighth and shutting down an Alabama rally. Turgeon (3-for-3, R, RBI, 2 BB) led the Florida offense Saturday, Taylor Gushue hit a game-tying solo homer in the sixth, and A.J. Puk delivered a go-ahead RBI single later in that frame. Puk (2.2 IP, 2 H, 0 R) also picked up the win in relief of Aaron Rhodes (2.1 IP, 4 H, 3 ER), as four Florida relievers combined to work 6.2 innings of scoreless, three-hit relief. Luke Weaver (4.1 IP, 4 H, 1 ER) left in the fifth inning of the first game after taking a line drive off his right leg, but Billy Strode (3.2 IP, 1 H, 0 R) kept the Gophers at bay until the ninth, when they took the lead with three runs against Gage Smith. But FSU answered with two in the bottom of the ninth, capped by a walk-off single from John Nogowski (3-for-5, R, 2 RBI). Nogowski went 4-for-4 to pace the offense in the nightcap, and Mike Compton (7.2 IP, 7 H, 2 ER) improved to 5-1. With the bases loaded and two outs in the ninth, Blake Allemand laced what appeared to be the game-winning hit toward the left-field corner, but Jared Foster made an incredible soaring catch to save the game for LSU. Then, in the 10th, Andrew Stevenson doubled and went on to score the winning run on Mark Laird’s fielder’s choice. Alex Bregman (3-for-4, 2 R, 2 RBI) homered and doubled for the Tigers to help them build their 4-0 lead. Cole Lankford’s walk-off RBI single in the ninth lifted the Aggies to a 3-2 win Saturday, when Jared Poche (7 IP, 7 H, 2 ER, 5 BB, 3 K) was solid in a no-decision for the Tigers. LSU scored a run in the seventh to tie Sunday’s game, but the Aggies got to Broussard for a run in the eighth to win, handing Broussard his first loss of the year.

The Anteaters passed the first big test on their very backloaded schedule with flying colors, sweeping UC Santa Barbara to maintain first place in the Big West, 1 1/2 games up on Cal Poly. UCI ace Andrew Morales (7.2 IP, 6 H, 2 ER, 3 BB, 7 K) improved to 8-0 in the series opener. The ‘Eaters had to come from behind on Saturday, tying the game with two runs in the seventh and then plating the winning run on Taylor Sparks’ RBI single in the bottom of the eighth. Sunday’s win was far more comfortable as Irvine scored five runs in the first inning, while Evan Brock (7 IP, 4 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 4 K) and two relievers combined on a shutout.

The Longhorns dropped their third straight series to fall into a tie for fifth place in the Big 12 with one series remaining (at Kansas State in two weeks). Harrison Musgrave (7 IP, 10 H, 3 ER, 1 BB, 7 K) bested Parker French (6 IP, 8 H, 4 R, 3 ER) in WVU’s 5-3 win Friday. Chad Hollingsworth (2 IP, 1 H, 0 R) earned the win in relief of Nathan Thornhill (4 IP, 7 H, 0 R) on Saturday, and John Curtiss worked three scoreless for his eighth save. The Mountaineers jumped on Lukas Schiraldi (2 IP, 4 H, 5 R, 3 ER) early Sunday and broke it open against Morgan Cooper (1.2 IP, 6 H, 6 R, 4 ER).

The Knights saw their seven-series winning streak snapped, dropping two of three at Houston to fall percentage points behind Louisville in the AAC race. UCF jumped out to a 4-0 lead through four innings Friday and held on for a 4-3 win behind Eric Skoglund (6.2 IP, 8 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 3 BB, 5 K), who improved to 8-1. James Vasquez hit a two-run homer, and Tommy Williams had three hits for the Knights. The Cougars erased a one-run deficit with two in the ninth to win 4-3 Saturday. Houston took the lead for good Sunday with three runs in the third against Tanner Olson (3 IP, 4 H, 3 ER).

Reed smacked his 20th home run and threw eight innings of one-run ball to improve to 8-2 in Thursday’s opener. But the rest of Kentucky’s pitching staff struggled, as Dylan Dwyer (3 IP, 5 H, 6 ER, 4 BB, 2 K) and Chandler Shepherd (5 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, 3 BB, 4 K) were not sharp in Friday’s loss. Andrew Nelson (4.2 IP, 2 H, 2 ER) fell to 1-5 in Saturday’s defeat.
