Carson Baranik (9 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 7 K) bounced back strong Saturday from his first loss of the season a week earlier, improving to 9-1. The efficient Baranik needed just 84 pitches to complete his shutout. Tyler Girouard (3-for-5, R, RBI, 2B) led the offense for the Cajuns. Cody Boutte (6 IP, 3 H, 2 ER) was solid in a no-decision Sunday, but the Red Wolves erased a 4-2 deficit with three runs in the seventh against the ULL bullpen.

Florida swept its third straight conference series—this one on the road against Alabama, which entered the weekend tied atop the SEC West standings. The Gators improved to 18-6 in the SEC, four games ahead of second-place Vanderbilt in the East and three games ahead of Ole Miss in the overall standings. Casey Turgeon (3-for-4, R, RBI) and Harrison Bader (2-for-4, 2 RBI) led the Florida offense Friday in support of Logan Shore (6 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K), and Eric Hanhold worked two hitless innings for the save, entering in a tight spot in the eighth and shutting down an Alabama rally. Turgeon (3-for-3, R, RBI, 2 BB) led the Florida offense Saturday, Taylor Gushue hit a game-tying solo homer in the sixth, and A.J. Puk delivered a go-ahead RBI single later in that frame. Puk (2.2 IP, 2 H, 0 R) also picked up the win in relief of Aaron Rhodes (2.1 IP, 4 H, 3 ER), as four Florida relievers combined to work 6.2 innings of scoreless, three-hit relief. Bader (3-for-6, 2 R, 2 RBI) and Peter Alonso (3-for-4, HR, 4 RBI) led a 16-hit attack Sunday, and Karsten Whitson (4 IP, 7 H, 1 ER) returned to the weekend rotation and earned a no-decision.

The Seminoles stepped out of conference play and swept Minnesota. After Friday’s game was postponed by rain, the Seminoles swept a hard-fought doubleheader Saturday. Luke Weaver (4.1 IP, 4 H, 1 ER) left in the fifth inning of the first game after taking a line drive off his right leg, but Billy Strode (3.2 IP, 1 H, 0 R) kept the Gophers at bay until the ninth, when they took the lead with three runs against Gage Smith. But FSU answered with two in the bottom of the ninth, capped by a walk-off single from John Nogowski (3-for-5, R, 2 RBI). Nogowski went 4-for-4 to pace the offense in the nightcap, and Mike Compton (7.2 IP, 7 H, 2 ER) improved to 5-1. Nogowski (3-for-4, R, RBI) kept swinging a hot bat Sunday, and Dylan Silva (3 IP, 1 H, 0 R) picked up the win in relief of Taylor Blatch (2 IP, 4 H, 1 ER). Closer Jameis Winston was suspended for the weekend after being cited for shoplifting food, but he was reinstated Sunday night after completing community service.

Mitsui (4-for-6, 3 R, 6 RBI, HR) and Austin Rei (5-for-6, R, 2 RBI) spearheaded Washington’s 23-hit onslaught in Sunday’s wild slugfest, as the Huskies blew leads of 10-1 and 13-12, but came from behind with five runs in the eighth and tacked on three more in the ninth to win.

The Mustangs saw their losing streak reach four games before rallying to win the final two games of their series at UC Riverside, keeping them in second place in the Big West behind UC Irvine. The Highlanders beat suddenly struggling ace Matt Imhof (3 IP, 7 H, 5 R, 4 ER) and the slumping Mustangs 7-3 on Friday. Six Mustangs recorded multiple hits as part of a 13-hit attack in that one, but Cal Poly left 11 men on base. Mark Mathias (2-for-4, 3 RBI) paced Cal Poly’s 10-hit attack Saturday, and Taylor Chris (3.1 IP, 3 H, 0 R) was strong in relief to earn the win. All nine Cal Poly starters registered hits Sunday as part of a balanced 13-hit attack in support of Casey Bloomquist (6 IP, 9 H, 2 ER), who improved to 10-1.

In a back-and-forth game Saturday, Miami erased a three-run deficit with three in the sixth, then the teams traded two-run rallies in the seventh, but Alabama State struck the final blow with a run in the eighth to win 6-5. Miami made four errors, leading to three unearned runs, including the game-winner in the eighth against Bryan Garcia. Bryan Radziewski (6.1 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 7 K) and Cooper Hammond (2.2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 4 K) held the Hornets at bay in Sunday’s win.

After Friday’s opener was postponed, the Cardinals swept a doubleheader Saturday. Grant Kay (3-for-4, 2 R) and Jeff Gardner (2-for-5, 2 RBI) led the Louisville offense in the opener behind Kyle Funkhouser (7.1 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 5 BB, 8 K). Gardner had two more hits and two more RBIs in the nightcap, including the game-winning RBI single in the 11th. Jared Ruxer (7 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 8 K) was strong in a no-decision in that one, and Cole Sturgeon (2.2 IP, 1 H, 0 R) earned the win. Mississippi got strong pitching from Chris Ellis (6 IP, 6 H, 2 ER) and Aaron Greenwood (3 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 4 K) in Friday’s win, and J.B. Woodman (3-for-3, R, RBI) led the offense. The Hogs jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first Saturday against Christian Trent (5 IP, 9 H, 4 ER), who quickly settled down and wound up earning the win, as the Rebels scored three in the bottom of the first and then surged ahead with three more in the fourth. Sikes Orvis (2-for-3, 2 R, 2 RBI) hit his 12th homer of the year, and Will Allen had three hits to lead the Ole Miss offense. Arkansas jumped out to a 5-1 lead through three innings Sunday against Sam Smith (3 IP, 6 H, 5 R, 4 ER) and padded the lead in the late innings.

Kevin Cron (4-for-4, R, RBI, 2B) led the TCU offense Friday in support of Preston Morrison (9 IP, 7 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 7 K), as the Frogs tied a Big 12 record by posting their 13th shutout of the season, and their seventh shutout of their current winning streak. Keaton Jones’ two-run triple highlighted TCU’s three-run fourth Saturday, and Tyler Alexander (7 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 5 K) made it stand up. Dylan Fitzgerald (4-for-5, 4 R, 4 RBI, 2B) and Boomer White (3-for-5, 2 R, 5 RBI, 2B) spearheaded TCU’s 18-hit barrage in Sunday’s blowout, as the Frogs scored seven runs in the fifth and 10 more in the sixth to invoke the mercy rule. TCU told reporters that ace Brandon Finnegan felt fine and could have started Sunday, but the Frogs chose to rest him after winning the first two games of the series.

OSU’s defense made three errors, leading to four unearned runs, but relievers Vince Wheeland and Brendan McCurry combined to work 2.2 scoreless innings to nail down the victory. Donnie Walton hit a walk-off single in the 11th Saturday, and Tim Arakawa had four hits to pace OSU’s 16-hit barrage. Wheeland (4.1 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K) earned the win with strong relief work. The Tigers dropped two of three at Texas A&M, in a hard-fought series that featured three straight one-run games. Aaron Nola (8.1 IP, 4 H, 3 ER, 3 BB, 7 K) carried a shutout and a 4-0 lead into the ninth Friday before the Aggies chased him, then tied the game up against Joe Broussard. With the bases loaded and two outs in the ninth, Blake Allemand laced what appeared to be the game-winning hit toward the left-field corner, but Jared Foster made an incredible soaring catch to save the game for LSU. Then, in the 10th, Andrew Stevenson doubled and went on to score the winning run on Mark Laird’s fielder’s choice. Alex Bregman (3-for-4, 2 R, 2 RBI) homered and doubled for the Tigers to help them build their 4-0 lead. Cole Lankford’s walk-off RBI single in the ninth lifted the Aggies to a 3-2 win Saturday, when Jared Poche (7 IP, 7 H, 2 ER, 5 BB, 3 K) was solid in a no-decision for the Tigers. LSU scored a run in the seventh to tie Sunday’s game, but the Aggies got to Broussard for a run in the eighth to win, handing Broussard his first loss of the year.

The Cougars erased a one-run deficit with two in the ninth to win 4-3 Saturday, as Ashford Fulmer hit a pinch-hit game-tying homer in the ninth, and Kyle Survance delivered a walk-off single. Jake Lemoine (7 IP, 7 H, 3 ER, 1 BB, 5 K) was solid in a no-decision for Houston, and Bubba Maxwell (2 IP, 0 H, 0 R) earned the win with strong relief. The Gamecocks tied the score at 1-1 in the eighth Friday, but the Bulldogs answered with two in the bottom of the frame against Jordan Montgomery (7 IP, 7 H, 3 R, 1 ER), as South Carolina made two errors in the inning, leading to a pair of unearned runs. The Gamecocks evened the series with a 5-2 win Saturday behind Jack Wynkoop (6 IP, 5 H, 2 ER) and bullpen stalwarts Cody Mincey (2.2 IP, 2 H, 0 R) and Joel Seddon. Grayson Greiner hit a two-run homer in the third, and the Gamecocks broke a 2-2 tie with two runs in the seventh. Walker Buehler worked three scoreless innings in relief of the inefficient Beede, who threw 108 pitches in his five-plus innings. Vanderbilt scored all five of its runs in the third inning Saturday, and Carson Fulmer (6 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 3 K) cruised before handing off to Hayden Stone for the final three innings. Xavier Turner’s two-run double in the third inning gave Vandy all the offense it needed Sunday, as Adam Ravenelle and Brian Miller worked 5.1 combined innings of two-hit, shutout relief.

A fine relief effort from Matt Kent (3.1 IP, 4 H, 0 R) gave the Aggies a chance to rally from a 4-0 deficit on Friday, and only a spectacular catch by the Tigers’ Jared Foster denied them the win, giving LSU a chance to win it in the 10th. Daniel Mengden (9 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 5 K) was superb in a complete game effort Saturday, and the Aggies won it on Cole Lankford’s (3-for-4) walk-off single in the ninth. There were more dramatics Sunday as freshman Ronnie Gideon (3-for-4) broke a 3-3 tie with a solo homer in the bottom of the eighth, the first long ball of his college career.

The Anteaters passed the first big test on their very backloaded schedule with flying colors, sweeping UC Santa Barbara to maintain first place in the Big West, 1 1/2 games up on Cal Poly. UCI ace Andrew Morales (7.2 IP, 6 H, 2 ER, 3 BB, 7 K) improved to 8-0 in the series opener. The ‘Eaters had to come from behind on Saturday, tying the game with two runs in the seventh and then plating the winning run on Taylor Sparks’ RBI single in the bottom of the eighth. Sunday’s win was far more comfortable as Irvine scored five runs in the first inning, while Evan Brock (7 IP, 4 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 4 K) and two relievers combined on a shutout.

The Longhorns dropped their third straight series to fall into a tie for fifth place in the Big 12 with one series remaining (at Kansas State in two weeks). Harrison Musgrave (7 IP, 10 H, 3 ER, 1 BB, 7 K) bested Parker French (6 IP, 8 H, 4 R, 3 ER) in WVU’s 5-3 win Friday. Chad Hollingsworth (2 IP, 1 H, 0 R) earned the win in relief of Nathan Thornhill (4 IP, 7 H, 0 R) on Saturday, and John Curtiss worked three scoreless for his eighth save. The Mountaineers jumped on Lukas Schiraldi (2 IP, 4 H, 5 R, 3 ER) early Sunday and broke it open against Morgan Cooper (1.2 IP, 6 H, 6 R, 4 ER).

The Red Raiders got another short start Sunday from Corey Taylor (2.2 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 1 ER), and their offense mustered just a run on five hits against Frank Duncan.

The Knights saw their seven-series winning streak snapped, dropping two of three at Houston to fall percentage points behind Louisville in the AAC race. UCF jumped out to a 4-0 lead through four innings Friday and held on for a 4-3 win behind Eric Skoglund (6.2 IP, 8 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 3 BB, 5 K), who improved to 8-1. James Vasquez hit a two-run homer, and Tommy Williams had three hits for the Knights. The Cougars erased a one-run deficit with two in the ninth to win 4-3 Saturday. Houston took the lead for good Sunday with three runs in the third against Tanner Olson (3 IP, 4 H, 3 ER).

The Wildcats dropped two of three at Tennessee, making them 2-6 in their past eight games. At 10-14 in the SEC, they are tied with the Volunteers for 10th place in the conference. A.J. Reed smacked his 20th home run and threw eight innings of one-run ball to improve to 8-2 in Thursday’s opener. But the rest of Kentucky’s pitching staff struggled, as Dylan Dwyer (3 IP, 5 H, 6 ER, 4 BB, 2 K) and Chandler Shepherd (5 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, 3 BB, 4 K) were not sharp in Friday’s loss. Andrew Nelson (4.2 IP, 2 H, 2 ER) fell to 1-5 in Saturday’s defeat.
