Now that school is back in session, it’s time to think about time management. Homework, tests, and projects all need to be managed properly if your student expects to do well.

If you want to help your student manage his or her time and schedule more efficiently, you can use technology to help. There are a number of helpful and advanced apps that can help your student stay on top of the situation and stay productive. Here are 7 apps ideal for managing homework this school year:

1. ToDoMatrix

This free app allows you to organize your tasks in six folders and 30 tasks. This is ideal for planning homework. You can set flexible reminders, and you can even use different display options, depending on what you need. You can use the free version, with its limitations, or upgrade so that you have more folders and additional tasks. For many students, though, the free version is sufficient.

2. Kno

Order textbooks through iPad or other tablet, and then you can highlight and annotate right there on the text. This is helpful on a number of levels when you’re studying. It’s also possible to use the app to integrate video or audio of lectures, and take pictures of images used in class. You can even use the “quiz me” feature to help you learn what’s in your textbook.

3. Evernote

If you’re not quite ready for something so involved, Evernote is a solid homework app. Evernote is a classic app. It’s pretty basic, allowing you to take photos and copy web pages, and add notes to them. You can tag your notes and use keywords to search what you’re looking for. It’s a great way to keep notes and ensure that you don’t lose important information.

4. iProcrastinate

You won’t procrastinate after adding this app to your mobile device. You can organize your tasks, from school projects to sports practice, using this app. It will sync with your computer, and you can easily prioritize your task list. iProcrastinate also helps you break your tasks down into smaller sub-tasks that can keep you focused on the prize, making the whole thing more manageable.

5. Google Calendar

This is another classic time management tool. Use Google Calendar to remind you of when you have tests, group project meetings, and other assignments. Plus, you can use Drive and Hangout to collaborate on projects. These tools, combined with Calendar, can ensure that your group work is easy to manage.

6. Quizlet

Rather than organizing your schedule, Quizlet is about helping you study. You can create digital flashcards that can help you study. Use the app to make games and quizzes, and even printable materials. It’s all about learning the material with this great homework app.

7. Remember the Milk

This to-do list app is great for reminders. You can set things up so that you receive alerts when certain tasks are due, as well as prioritize what you need to do. You can sync it up with your computer, and even share the list with others. It’s also possible to integrate your Gmail and other apps with Remember the Milk to keep everything up-to-date.
