DESCRIPTION:

Fourteen-year-old March Wong knows everything there is to know about trees. They are his passion and his obsession, even after his recent falls–and despite the state’s threat to take him away from his mother if she can’t keep him from getting hurt. But the young autistic boy cannot resist the captivating pull of the Pacific Northwest’s lush forests just outside his back door.

One day, March is devastated to learn that the Eagle Tree–a monolithic Ponderosa Pine near his home in Olympia–is slated to be cut down by developers. Now, he will do anything in his power to save this beloved tree, including enlisting unlikely support from relatives, classmates, and even his bitter neighbor. In taking a stand, March will come face-to-face with some frightening possibilities: Even if he manages to save the Eagle Tree, is he risking himself and his mother to do it?

Intertwining themes of humanity and ecology, The Eagle Tree eloquently explores what it means to be part of a family, a society, and the natural world that surrounds and connects us.

DESCRIPTION:

Theology should not be abstract. We should live like it’s true. However, I discovered that there were several areas where my theology was mostly correct, but the truth was not “written on my heart”. I didn’t know how to live it out in my daily life.

Some examples: I believed that God was sovereign, but I got frustrated when stuck in traffic. I read that in God’s presence is fulness of joy, but I kept chasing after money and what it can buy. I knew that Jesus was preparing a place for me, but I acted as if my house would be eternal if I just maintained it well enough.

As I was trying to work through these issues, I didn’t find much to help me. (It may well exist; I just didn’t find it.) So I wrote this book to help me think through some of these issues. In essence, it is what I needed to hear.

When problem-students meet a teacher with a plan everyone can have a happy outcome
“The atmosphere in the classroom was toxic.
It was a mixture of regular students, special needs students and a couple of professional troublemakers’ that wore ankle bracelets
But it wasn’t the ankle bracelet students’ that were causing the problem
There were three specific students in the center of the storm’.
“Yes These three kids have been a problem since the beginning of the year we might need to have them take summer school” Said the Vice-Principal when I asked him why these particular kids were having such a hard time.
But you see, this was not my first teaching position. And I wasn’t going to let that happen
I implemented the No Failings Students’ teaching method in this class.
And sure, there were some objections at first,
But as the weeks went by, there was less fighting
Fewer airplanes whizzing by.
And less failing grades.
But what made the biggest impact was that the atmosphere in the classroom changed completely.
It wasn’t just these three kids that were saved’, it was the entire class.

Here’s what you’ll discover in “No Failing Students”

Seven well organized proven steps for immediate implementation to bring out the best in all students.

Detailed examples of how to identify vocabulary that is essential for students to learn and be successful in your classroom.

An easy proven way to identify which students will struggle with your content so you can give assistance immediately to reach and meet the needs of every learner in your classroom.

Clever Ideas for motivating students to want to learn without compromising academic rigor.

A time-saving plan for re-designing practice work using higher order thinking skills in every content area on every level. There is no need to give up your personal life to have successful students.

Assessment formats than can be adapted by any teacher to increase a student’s confidence and success on assessments yet save you hours of time.

Mistakes that you do not want to make that will cause students to fail.

The most important benefit of this book is that in a short period of time you can move students from failure to involved, confident, successful, happy learners.

Is your worst enemy the one looking back at you from the mirror?

Fifteen year old Isabella Rockwell’s bones ache with homesickness. But home is eight thousand miles away in northern India, and Isabella is imprisoned in the bitter winter of nineteenth century London. Sent to England after her father goes missing in a violent battle, Isabella runs away from a life of drudgery and hardship. Rescued from death by a gang of street urchins, Isabella finds the shelter and love she so desperately craves. As an accomplished trickster, she starts to save for her passage home with the money she makes from swindling the rich.

After a moment of heroism which surprises even herself, Isabella wakes in Kensington Palace. This is an opportunity too good to miss. If she can steal one of the glowing, priceless paintings, she and her gang will have enough to keep out searing cold and gnawing hunger for the rest of their lives.

If Isabella plays her cards right.

What she hasn’t reckoned with is her growing fondness for the Princess Alixandrina Victoria Hanover, a kind and lonely girl her own age, and heir to the British throne. Despite the richness of her surroundings, Alix’s life is harsh and without love.

When someone tries to poison Isabella, Isabella realises it is Alix’s life which is under threat. At first Isabella suspects Prince Ernest, a hardened general, and next in line to the throne. Or is it John Conroy, a powerful schemer, in love with Alix’s beautiful spendthrift mother, and desperate to get his hands on Alix’s inheritance? Either way, Isabella’s feelings of responsibility for Alix and her loyalty to the gang who saved her life, are tearing her apart.

Instead of taking advantage of Alix, will Isabella puts her own needs aside and cast herself into mortal danger to save her friend? Only the harsh lessons of Isabella’s past can help her decide if she should leave Alix to her fate – a fate tied up with Isabella’s own.

A fate which will have consequences far beyond those she could ever have imagined.

“Parry’s descriptions are as varied as they are rich, from the scents of Abhaya’s Indian healing herbs to the sounds of London’s bustling streets and the opulence in the British royalty. A sizeable cast of beautifully developed, memorable characters makes solving the mystery even more deliciously puzzling, and readers will be guessing to the surprising end.

Imaginative and touching; like India, a sparkling jewel in the crown.”

Kirkus Reviews, January 2013.

“I absolutely adored this! Bursting with beautiful writing and insanely lovable characters, Isabella Rockwell’s War is perfect for anyone who enjoys historical middle grade! I desperately want to read more from this author.”

Samantha Randolph, I Heart YA Fiction Blogspot.com.

“Isabella Rockwell’s War offers an enticing blend of an historical novel, nineteenth century England, strong-willed heroines, and/or real life fairy tales.”

Indie Reader, July 2014.

DESCRIPTION:

When John Simpson hears of a bizarre animal attack in his old home town of High Moor, it stirs memories of a long forgotten horror. John knows the truth. A werewolf stalks the town once more, and on the night of the next full moon, the killing will begin again. He should know. He survived a werewolf attack in 1986, during the worst year of his life.

It’s 1986 and the town is gripped in terror after the mutilated corpse of a young boy is found in the woods. When Sergeant Steven Wilkinson begins an investigation, with the help of a specialist hunter, he soon realises that this is no ordinary animal attack. Werewolves are real, and the trail of bodies is just beginning, with young John and his friends smack in the middle of it.

Twenty years later, John returns to High Moor. The latest attack involved one of his childhood enemies, but there’s more going on than meets the eye. The consequences of his past actions, the reappearance of an old flame and a dying man who will either save or damn him are the least of his problems. The night of the full moon is approaching and time is running out.

But how can he hope to stop a werewolf, when every full moon he transforms into a bloodthirsty monster himself?

High Moor is the highest rated werewolf horror series on Amazon, and with good reason. Check out the reviews below.

“Graeme Reynolds has written a real-deal werewolf story. In these dull days of nice, friendly lycanthropes, it is refreshing to see some brutality and animal instincts in what is a very fine British horror novel. Reynolds draws vivid pictures with words. His descriptions of High Moor the town is excellent, portraying an area in decay, one that suffered during the 1980s, and has yet to recover into the 21st century. The transformation scenes, where humans become wolves, are brilliantly done, and you can feel every crack of bone, every tear of flesh. High Moor is a worthy addition to the werewolf canon. – Thomas Emson, Author of Maneater, Prey, Skarlet, Krimson, Zombie Britannica”

Ripe for a film or TV adaptation and left open for a sequel, High Moor is an excellent example of great British writing that deserves to be read. – Starburst Magazine. 9/10

If you’re craving some good werewolf action with well-developed characters and a fantastic plot, skip the Hollywood films and go straight for this electrifying novel, which is far more entertaining. – Hellnotes.com

Graeme Reynolds has written a captivating, action packed, this-should-be-a-movie werewolf novel in High Moor and if this is going to be a series of some sort, count me in for the ride. It should be a fun one. – Horrortalk.com

This is an action filled horror novel that also has fully realized characters; the fact that Reynolds brings the characters to life so well just adds to the terror you feel as a reader. – The Horrifically Horrifying Horror Blog

It takes a writer of tremendous skill to imbue a an action packed novel with as much depth, as is displayed here. This book was a joy to read, not just for its ability to transport me back to a time gone by, but also because it is so well written. If this is the level of writing Graeme is capable of producing in a début novel, then I for one cannot wait for his next novel. – Gingernuts of Horror
