The Bushwhackers by Van Holt

Genre(s): History | Westerns

On Sale Now! Limited time only. Normally $7.99.
THE BUSHWHACKERS
Heck Martin’s motto was simple. If they left him alone, he would leave them alone.
Heck Martin was not pro-Union, like his father and brother. He had joined up with Quantrill to harass the bluebellies and other Union feds that thought they could tell others what they should be doing. But after the massacre at Lawrence, Kansas, he wanted nothing to do with Quantrill and his gang.
Thirteen other hard-bitten veterans had followed him, had joined with him, but soon grew to hate him even more than they hated Quantrill.
Then suddenly, the war is over, and Heck knows that most of his “men” would be out to kill him. But they all feared him. He was the fastest with a gun they had ever seen. Also, Heck had warned them, when he left for home, that if anyone followed him or tried to cause him or his family harm, he would kill them on sight.
Cotton Petty and the other bushwhackers had not left him alone. They had tried to kill him, and failing that, had killed two members of his family. For that he would hound them to the ends of the earth, if need be. From now on, until he was dead or they were all dead, there would be war between them.

Follow Heck Martin as he tracks the deadly bushwhackers, across the 1865 wild west landscape of Missouri, Texas, New Mexico and Arizona. Heck’s tracking skills are put to the test in a deadly game of cat and mouse, sprinkled with Comanches, wild west women, mountain men and plenty of gunfights, horses and cold blooded killers. He also has to avoid the bluebellies who are hunting him, as well as a bounty put on his head by Quantrill, for what Heck had done during the war.

The Man in a Haystack by Alice Huskisson

Genre(s): Biographies & Memoirs | Relationships

THE MAN IN A HAYSTACK is a true story based on the author’s dating escapades in her forties. Written in blog format it makes for an easy and fast paced read and has been described by 5 STAR reviewers as ‘a chick lit masterpiece’, ‘better than Bridget Jones’, and ‘an addictive read’. It is funny, emotional, heartbreaking, and above all entertaining. If you are in your thirties or forties (or even fifties) and still searching for Mr Right or simply want to be transported back to your dating days, this book is for you. It provides insights in to online dating, office romances, toy boys, players, charmers – pick a type and you’ll probably find him between these pages! Every woman can relate.

SYNOPSIS Mae, a forty-something glamorous Essex girl, has spent most of her adult years waiting for Mr Right to sweep her off her feet. Conscious of time no longer being on her side, her biological clock ticking away and signs of ageing creeping up on her, she decides to take matters in to her own hands and seek out the man of her dreams, blogging about her dating encounters as they unfold. Join Mae on her journey as she searches for love. Feel her frustrations and emotional pain. Laugh, smile and cry with her, and watch as she lays past relationships to rest.

The Man in a Haystack is an entertaining story essentially for women, however men may also reap some benefits. Women might recognise similarities with their own men, identify with elements of Mae’s personality and empathise with her dating experiences. Men, on the other hand, could become educated in female psychology and find out why their girlfriends react to them the way they do.

EDITORIAL REVIEW: “Out of all the romance novels I have read, this one felt the most realistic. We can only reminisce about our favourite Disney tale but this one is so much more realistic. Mr Right isn’t always there when you need him to sweep you off your feet. The novel is incredibly well written, and the characterisation is so strong, that you feel Mae’s emotion through every page, from her joy to her sadness. So, that is why the story works – Alice Huskisson is writing from the heart and it shows. There is a truth behind her words, and an empathy that is evoked through a refreshingly honest account of love and romance.”

For the Love of an Angel, from the Immortal Blog by Frank Anjakos

Genre(s): Romance | Paranormal

On Sale Now! Normally $7.99For the Love of an Angel, from the Immortal Blog
Hey, Phinn here.
I’m an Angel. A 16 year old immortal. You don’t know me. You’ve never seen me. Unless you’re a dead teenager and you’ve been good and live in Southern California (narrows it down, huh?). If that’s the case, we’ve probably met. See, I take the souls of good kids to Heaven, but I’m not allowed to interact with the living…which makes high school, being on the soccer team and writing for the school newspaper a little difficult. As an angel, I play by the rules.
My “arch-frenemy” Iszn, the demon who takes the bad kids to Hell, breaks all the rules…which is why he’s one of the most popular kids in school. Iszn’s hobbies are football, human girls, football, torturing me, football and evil….did I mention football?
Anyway, as an Angel I try not to have any direct contact with humans…well, that is until I met this girl. Actually, until she met me…it’s kind of complicated. That’s one of the reasons I write my blog…to let you guys in on a world you probably didn’t even know existed…until it’s too late, anyway.
But this world does exist, and it’s about to get complicated. There are some deaths we can’t explain and only Iszn and I seem to want to get to the bottom of them. It’s going to cost us…a lot, but we can’t let it go.
So ya, enjoy the blog…comment if you want. I read all the comments and try to respond. And don’t let Iszn freak you out…to my knowledge, he’s never actually eaten anyone’s face.

Killer Friends by Joanne Clancy

Genre(s): Mystery Thriller & Suspense

Keep your friends close…

But your enemies closer…

Flashes from the forensic cameras made lightning strikes against the darkness. Detective Emma Cole screeched to a halt in front of the yellow police tape. Strands of the crime scene ribbon fluttered in the biting wind. Red and blue lights from the squad cars pulsated a warning that something terrible had happened. At first glance, it seemed that the three young people had been partying too much, but the blood told an entirely different story. Forensic evidence would prove that a hail of gunfire had killed the first victim, while the second victim had been shot and savagely beaten to her death. Detective Emma Cole walked upstairs. She paused briefly outside the first bedroom before opening the door. She took a step inside and stopped abruptly. Nothing could have prepared her for the sight that met her eyes…

˃˃˃ 5 Star Review from Amazon Top 500 Reviewer

It is really a riveting story. Right from the opening scene your drawn in and as always for me I can’t put her books down until I have my conclusion. No matter what twists it takes along the way or a shocking ending that comes out of nowhere..~ Robin Lee, Amazon Top 500 Reviewer
