Fidelity Bank, North Shore Bank and WinnCos. are among the organizations giving back to their communities this week.
Clinton Savings Bank
Clinton Savings Bank recently hosted a barbeque dinner for 70 seniors at the Sterling Senior Center. The evening included food, refreshments, music, trivia and raffles for the residents.
Fidelity Bank
In the wake of its recent merger with Barre Savings Bank, Fidelity Bank has founded the Barre Savings Charitable Foundation, which will benefit local community organizations. The foundation has a $1.5 million endowment and will be led by former state Sen. Stephen Brewer, as well as an independent board of directors.
The Barre Savings Charitable Foundation distributed a $5,000 grant to the Listening Wellness Center in Barre to fund several children’s enrollment in the center’s summer and after-school programs. The center promotes holistic health and wellness for individuals of all ages and abilities in and around Barre.
Florence Bank
Florence Bank has pledged to contribute a total of $25,000 over a five-year period to the Hilltown Community Health Center, to be used in the construction and operation of the planned John P. Musante Home Health Center. The Amherst-based center is set to open in 2017 and will provide medical, dental and behavioral care to anyone in need, regardless of their ability to pay.
Northern Bank & Trust Co.
Northern Bank recently held a first-time homebuyer seminar at its main office in Woburn. During the event, 33 prospective homebuyers listened to Shawn Tully, a Northern Bank vice president and loan officer, review residential financing options and give an overview of the homebuying process. The event was arranged in coordination with Community Teamwork Inc., a nonprofit organization that promotes community action.
North Shore Bank
North Shore Bank will be collecting new school supplies through Aug. 19 to support Citizens for Adequate Housing’s annual supply drive. Items collected at the bank’s three Peabody locations will be distributed to children and teenagers residing at the Peabody-based shelter.
Partners Insurance Group LLC
Partners Insurance Group LLC will sponsor the second annual “Stronger Together” event, benefitting Gifts To Give, an organization focused on helping child poverty through service. The event will take place on Sept. 15 and will feature music, raffles and food stations. Tickets can be purchased at Partners locations.
SpencerBANK
SpencerBANK recently made a $1,000 donation to the Worcester chapter of StandUp for Kids, an organization that seeks to end youth homelessness.
Webster Five
The Webster Five Foundation has donated $2,000 to Genesis Club House Inc., which provides adults recovering from mental illness with programs for job skills development, health and wellness, affordable housing, social engagement and educational support.
WinnCos.
WinnCos. has awarded $44,000 in scholarships to 45 individuals residing in properties managed by the company. The WinningEdge scholarship program benefits residents of WinnResidential and WinnResidential Military Housing Services properties who have earned a high school diploma or GED and wish to pursue a college or professional trade school education.
Workers Credit Union
Workers Credit Union recently donated $1,500 to Veteran Homestead, which provides housing, counseling and other services to veterans.
