If you are a fellow beer drinker, then you will know that Heineken is one of the most dynamic exciting brand of recent years. And we are not just saying that because they threw a hell of a party when they closed down the entire Ann Siang stretch last year for their Heineken Cities Festival.

And now, having recently rolled out a spanking new commercial entitled The Insider, Heineken is celebrating by bringing back their signature event back to our shores. Taking place at the iconic CHIJMES, this year’s Heineken Cities Festival seeks to take party goers on a journey through the unknown cultural pleasures of six cities – Los Angeles, Madrid, Mexico City, Seoul, Tokyo and of course, Singapore.

And in the spirit of Heineken Cities Festival to “embrace the spirit of adventure and discovery”, we here at Bandwagon pick out five things that are sure to perk your interest.

5 Things to Do At Heineken Cities Festival

1. Catch Mariachi Nuveo Estilo

We have to admit that we aren’t exactly the foremost experts in the mariachi genre, but you don’t need to be a connoisseur to know that we have a real Mexican gem on our hands. The ex-America’s Got Talent contestants will be blending their pop music sensibilities together with their mariachi training to deliver an electrifying performance!

2. Dance your night away with club maestros, DJ Cristian Varela and DJ Leam

Once again, Heineken demonstrates the kind of musical acumen that made their Green Room parties the envy of the town. Always one to provide the danceable club tunes, the Dutch beer has seen fit to invite headliner Madrid DJ/producer Cristian Varela. The techno DJ will be keeping the festival going till the wee hours of the night alongside Seoul’s very own DJ Leam, whose beats repertoire is sure to satisfy even the pickiest of clubbers.

3. Experience a one of a kind Spanish Flamenco pop group

In keeping with last year’s carnivalesque atmosphere, this upcoming installation of Heineken Cities Festival features more entertainment than the actual Brazilian Carnival! The Spanish flavour runs deep this year with yet another Spanish act. Be prepared to be enchanted by a group of Flamenco dancers which double up as a pop act.

4. Get your hands on a limited edition Heineken

It’s probably safe to say that most people will be at the event for the beer. Therefore, Heineken will be seizing the opportunity to unveil their new Limited City Edition Heineken bottles that are named after the six featured cities. But if you are not a bottle kind of person, then you can always opt for the sleek can option.

5. Enjoy a cold one in a public area after 10.30pm

Since all of us here at Bandwagon are law abiding citizens, it has been a while since we had a drink after 10.30pm in a public place. And to be perfectly honest, we missed that. Hanging out with friends on a Friday night just doesn’t seem complete without a cold one.
