Description:

Kiwi - One of the beautiful yarns in the Zealana range, this 4-ply (fingering) weight yarn is comprised of 40% fine New Zealand Merino, 30% Organic Cotton and 30% New Zealand Possum fibre.

It is light and soft, knitting like wool but with the beautiful stitch definition you see more often in cotton. The colours and muted and harmonious - nearly every colour could be mixed with nearly every other colour and look wonderful.

Each skein is 40g (approximately 124m/135y).

3mm needles, 27 stitches to 10 cm (always check your gauge though!)

Made in New Zealand.

I have photographed these in natural light to best represent the colours, however their appearance may vary on different monitors.

You can choose from the following colours:

Storm blue: lovely soft blue

Fern: gorgeous fresh soft green

Majesty: darker purple

Papura: soft purple

Sunset: Beautiful gold

Granite: Grainy grey

Rococco: Soft red

Aurora Pink: Pink!

Beach: Elegant sandy colour. Lovely on its own or a great contrast with one of the other colours.

Pounamu: Gorgeous tealy blue.

Ocean: A darker blue than Storm Blue (see my other listings). They'd look great together.

Winter Green: A lovely softer green (than Fern - see other listings). Would combine well with most other colours!

You are bidding on ONE skein (~40g).

See my other listings for other Noro and Zealana yarns, patterns, books and the premier Noro Magazine!

The Zealana range is made in New Zealand by Woolyarns in the lower North Island. They specialise in high quality fibres and particularly in Fine New Zealand Merino and Possum fibre blends. The New Zealand Possum is an ecological disaster, destroying masses of native bush and endangering bird life. These yarns make use of a fibre that would otherwise be wasted. Possum is incredibly light and warm, and being a fine fibre it is non-scratchy.

Most Zealana yarns are destined for export so I am very pleased to have it to offer, as a stand alone product and for use as beautiful complementary solids for the striking Noro range. Kiwi blends well with the Noro sock weight yarns.
