I have had a relationship with Bakersfield College for 57 years, starting when I first enrolled as a student. I have always found faculty and staff to be of the highest quality, dedicated to the students and the community. As mayor of Bakersfield and a former Kern Community College School District trustee, I am invested in the growth and economic development of Kern County.
For this reason, I strongly endorse the KCCD Bond measure. This $503 million bond will fund capital improvements and repairs to outdated classrooms in all three KCCD community colleges, Bakersfield College, Cerro Coso Community College and Porterville College.
