Some of these rooms are suspended in the air, or held by stilts. The rooms, which will cost you about US$506, are around 13 to 20 feet in height.

2. LES CABANES dans les bois, Landry – France
Banish your fears away of the woods, have fun, and find comfort in Les Cabanes dans les bois in Landry, France. A 90-minute drive from Paris, the treehouse can be found on the edge of a pond in France’s department of Eure-et-Loir. These 15 individually-designed tree houses are scattered around in a private forest. The wooden cabins hanging onto oak trees are connected by stairs and rope bridges.

3. CHATEAUX DAN LES ARBRES, Nojals-et-Clotte – France
If you’re looking to spend your vacation in a French chateaux set amongst the trees, then a trip to the Chateaux dans les Arbres is perfect. Located in Nojals-et-Clotte, this charming treehouse location offers four uniquely designed cabins. You can challenge yourself by choosing treetop cabins that are perched really high above the ground, which can only be accessed through a series of stairs, ladders and rope bridges. 6. KADIR’S TREE HOUSE, Olympos – Turkey
This mini village can house up to 110 visitors. Backpackers love this place as they can set up campfires and hang out in a hippie commune. These treehouses have 45 elevated units and two mini bars that cater to travelers aged 20 and up. Each unit has one to 8 beds each, costing US$10-30 per night.

7. CASTLE COTTAGE TREEHOUSE, West Sussex – United Kingdom
Castle Cottage’s Treehouse is an above ground cottage, set in a sweet chestnut tree. The Human Nest in Big Sur, California was designed by local artist, Jayson Fann, who is famous for building nest houses around the world. This art installation he made at Treebones Resort consists of woven wood, and is considered by many as a “cocoon of peace.” It also has five campsites, 16 yurt huts, and a Sibley tent set on a platform. An overnight stay here ranges between $130 for the tent to $225-$255 for two people in the yurt hut.

21. FREE SPIRIT SPHERES, Vancouver – Canada
This eco-resort is set among the tall trees in the west coast rainforest of Vancouver, Canada. The sphere-shaped houses are supported by a web of ropes woven on the nearest trees. There are only three pods, and the smallest one is only nine feet in diameter. Each sphere has a kitchenette, bed, table, and chairs that are cleverly set in limited space.
