Personality: Chantel is what most people see as a workaholic and a bit of an asshole in the opinions of most. Chantel has adapted a very serious demeanor from living with her uncle John and her strict disciplining parents due to their Military backgrounds. She keeps her head under stress for the most part and is a great strategic planner and mind. Chantel seems like a no nonsense female who doesn't know how to take a joke but she has her own witty sarcastic humor. She likes teasing and taunting others in training and often she might unintentionally provoke someone. She has a flirtatious side, attracted to strong men, lone wolves, or leaders of the pack, like Superboy, Batman or Roy for example. She does however tend to be at odds with the latter alot due to their similar attitudes bumping heads. She has a strong need for independence and doesn't like to get help. She is very opinionated and doesn't bite her tongue for anyone. She holds respect to the highest standard and is up to proving herself. When joining the team she made it clear that she could hold her own. Chantel is very selfless and despite her hardass nature she tries to show affection in her own way. Though she has a tough exterior, Chantel harbors dark secrets about her depression and her fight with anxiety and anorexia. She has suicidal tendencies that she can not keep under control, so she always volunteers for "suicide missions" and the hardest missions in order to put her life in some sort of danger as if it gives her a rush. Chantel can be very motherly to younger members such as Robin, Beast Boy, and Impulse on occasion. She prides herself on her strength and hates losing. She shows great admiration for Hawkgirl and Black Canary and inspires to be like the two when she gets older. She is very empathetic to those going through siutations like hers with suicide and addictions, they hold a soft spot towards her heart. She is very respectful towards her Uncle though she does not agree with some things like he criticizing her dislike of teamwork as she doesn't believe she needs it and that she can work alone. Or the fact her uncle wanted her to join the team to work on it. Chantel gets very jealous easily such as when Artemis tells her Cheshire kissed Roy or finding out they gotten married and it causes her to act very aggressive and somewhat volatile. Chantel became very focused on her brother's death believing it not to be a suicide but there's much more to it. Among finding out the truth she became desperate for revenge and sought out vengence against his murderer.
Are they a daredevil or cautious? Both. When it comes to her own safety she can be considered a daredevil. But when it comes the safety of her teammates and loved ones she is cautious and uses strategy to ensure a good mission and victory.
Do they act the same alone as when with someone? When alone Chantel is just the same as she is around someone. But depending on the person her mood and approach will change entirely. Around Roy she can be flirtatious and hard to get for any attention he gives her which can be off putting to their relationship and causes problems. Around her Uncle or someone she respects, she shows a much more sensitive side than usual. Around an enemy she is cold and tactful.

Background: Chantel was born in Detroit, Michigan to Charles and Charmaine Stewart the third of four siblings with two older brothers and one younger sister. Chantel was closest to her eldest brother Chance, he being her role model. She was ambitious and strived to be like her elder brother and her Uncle John picking up their hobbies or at least attempting to. Though she had a home in Detroit her parents constantly being stationed in different place meant she had to move around quite alot. Chantel, being a military brat, drew away form her classmates as being outed as the new girl, never having a stable place, and making new friends all over again made her not want to try much at all. She would become aggressive and distant whenever she was forced to be friendly. With her parents being around less frequently due to deployment, Chantel learned that she could not cope with it to well and soon with her brother joining the Military as well and Chase deciding to leave home, she began to feel alone. Chantel didn't have her uncle or her brother around so she'd resort to working out to be just like her family, Military oriented as she liked to call it. That's when her brother got deployed for his first tour, Chantel proudly told him she'd be joining Chance soon enough. Chance laughed and said she'd see him there as he got deported to Bialya. When Chantel was 14 she learned of the death of her brother from one of the soldiers that came back. She learned of how her brother became mentally unstable and killed himself before his eyes. Chantel couldn't believe what she was told going through denial before she went through a severe suicidal depression. She went through a period of not eating, suffering from anorexia as well as cutting herself in an attempt to numb the pain. Chantel couldn't believe the idea that her older brother would kill himself and that he was much stronger than that. After her parents began noticing how bad she had gotten felt like it was best to send her with her Uncle John along with her youngest sister. John did not baby her during this period and helped snapped her out her depression. Through the next couple of years she witnessed her Uncle's heroics in secret and became interested in the life he lead in secret. When Chantel turned 15 and her younger sister turned 12, she found out that Chanelle had gone and snuck after her Uncle John into the city and she quickly followed after to make sure her sister was alright. In the middle of her Uncle's heroics, Chantel had found her sister in danger and her uncle diving to protect her made Chantel in her reckless moment, leapt into action. She picked up a random ring and recited the Green Lantern's oath in order to scare the criminal into thinking she was one while her uncle used the diversion to attack. This lead her to have a slight thrill for near death experiences as she was cornered by another criminal. Frantically she kept repeating the oath as she was getting attacked hoping it would work. Before her uncle could save her Chantel's own will power was discovered all the way from Oa. After repeating the oath a final time and her own determination she said the words "It WILL work with my strength so help me God" she was granted her own power ring and made a Green Lantern before her family's eyes. Chantel since then had been her Uncle's side kick though she gets scolded often for being reckless at times. When the team formed she was adamant about joining and still is. Chantel is actively searching the mystery of her brother's death.

Charles and Chantel talk as often as they'd like and will both permit. Charles will try to make time to spend with Chantel which despite her busy schedule she will hurriedly try to met up with him and she gets angered with anything that interferes with it.

Chance Stewart: Her eldest brother and the sibling she was closest with. Chantel was devestated to believe he killed himself while in the military as she knew her brother was stronger than that. As she'd quote "He had more willpower than any Green Lantern I've ever met" and believed he would have been the one to get the ring if he was still alive. She was angered greatly to find out Psimon had commanded her brother to kill himself upon finding out intel about Queen Bee.
Chanelle Stewart: Her younger sister and what she calls a big headache. She and her sister butt heads alot and to be honest she'd rather not deal with her wild behavior. But at the end of the day her sister is someone she'd protect.
Chase Stewart: Her second elder brother. Chase left home once he came out as gay thinking he wouldn't be accepted by his family. He started a life with his husband after eloping and doesn't try to spend much time with his family out of his shame of leaving. Chantel tries to keep in touch till this day.
Children of siblings: 1. Messiah Stewart. Chase's son. Chantel adores her nephew to death and spends time with him as much as she could.

Friends: In her short time with the team she does learn to consider many of them friends. She is not fond of M'gann or Zatanna and she doesn't know Rocket well. She dislikes Arsenal greatly as she had grown used to her Roy Harper (Red Arrow) and she doesn't like his personality. She had an initial dislike of Wally West flirtatious nature and would often target him which befriending Deidre did she learn to let it die down as well as she gained respect for him once finding out he saved the Queen of Vlatava Perdita. Conner Kent and her have a mutual respect for each other despite her flirting with him and his rough aggressive nature would cause problems for the team in her opinion. She serves more as a mentor for the second team rather than a member where she isn't fond of Lagoon Boy at all and does not like what seems like M'gann's petty efforts to win back Conner. Mayura McCabe is someone she does not dislike but she tries not to seek her out since she likes to handle things on her own.
Her closest friends are Deidre Adkins, Vanessa Stone, Artemis Crock, Aaron Stone, Karen Breecher, and Kaldur'ahm.
Lover/Crush/Husband/Wife:
Roy Harper (Red Arrow): Chantel and Roy started off rather rocky both very familiar with each other as they both started as protege's around the same time. Chantel was attracted to Roy in secret but she didn't like that they both shared a lack of teamwork skills so whenever she teamed up with him and Green Arrow she was always annoyed with his actions and arguments broke out at the end of the mission. Roy didn't like how she found a way to take up as many missions as she could as if she was trying to get spotlight from it, though this wasn't the case. She would often begin to patronize him and tease him whenever they met up and saw each other even on missions that she'd show up to. For years it would be back and forths and flirting from Chantel. Roy and Chantel were strictly just having sex and nothing more for quite a while as they got older. Chantel however did respect him for the work he did alone once he stopped being Speedy and became Red Arrow and admired his work finding it so much better than when he had donned the named Speedy. Then Chantel made the effort to establish a close knit friendship with Roy, slowly but surely finding common ground and the two had short conversations to long deep talks. Soon it became clear Chantel had started having feelings for Roy and Roy was confused on his own feelings. With Chantel's refusal to open up their relationship would stay at a constant mark up until she found out that Cheshire had been flirting with Roy and Artemis told her that they kissed. Their relationship was slightly strained by her jealousy and even though Roy didn't understand why she was upset,for they were not together, he rather avoid it all together. Soon with Roy's discovery that he was a cadmus clone and he was the mole upon entering the league, Chantel sought him out after his obsession with finding the Real Roy Harper. To his surprise she showed gentleness and stayed with him as he began to spiral down,telling him of her past and struggle with depression and how she'd seek danger, helping him when he needed it the most, and the two slowly fell for each other. Chantel never cared for finding the real Roy Harper because to her he was the real Roy and ensured that she'd never part. However when she went on a mission for a year's travel into space and to Oa she had come back to resume her relationship with him and that Roy in a moment's weak discrestion had married Cheshire and he fathered a daughter. She was angered greatly and settled for isolating herself on Mount Justice by making herself a mentor on the team to avoid him.
