Okara: Four individuals died and four are reported injured in a collision of motorcycle rickshaw and train on Wednesday, near Haveli Lakha, Okara.
According to reports several years ago, some thieves had pulled off and taken the gate on the railway crossing which had not been installed yet, nor some guard was present on crossing.
Today, when Fareed Express was passing from the level crossing, at the same time the motorcycle rickshaw full of passengers passed the gate and collided with train. Four died at the spot and same are reported injured.
Rescue teams rushed toward the incident place just after receiving the report and shifted victims to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Depalpur.
Ministry of railway asked for the inquiry report of the accident.
Last month in another train-car collision, six people died in Toba Tek Singh. Train accidents are very common in Pakistan and most reported cases include collision and derailment of coaches from their tracks.
