The Super Bowl is two teams dueling like in a western for the Vince Lombardi trophy. Lonerider Brewery has some remarkable beers that have a bit of fun with some western titled names. Outlaw beer drinkers will enjoy sampling these beers for their Super Bowl party. Take for example, Deadeye Jack, their seasonal porter, which is a perfect match for a big bowl of homemade chili.

Deadeye Jack’s hints of chocolate and mild sweetness compliment spicy, savory foods, while providing a subtle, smoky “mole” flavor. The malty, low hops bitterness cools off the bite of a masterfully cooked spice, leaving your mouth in bliss.

And, then for dessert have a Pistols At Dawn with apple pie. The roasted chocolate flavors cruises right into a full-bodied and complex blend that pairs well with some good, old-fashioned apple pie.

Check out my thoughts on the beers below and share with us what I got right and wrong. Have you tried any of these beers? What do you enjoy? Sound off below in the comments section.

Addie’s Revenge

Addie’s Revenge is an IPA with an abundance of citrusy hops that make up the nose and flavor. This gold-colored ale is rounded our perfectly with pale vienna and crystal malts. Medium sized foamy white head and several wide bands of lacing on the glass. When poured, the color is a cloudy orange, the aroma is faint orange, grapefruit.

The taste is a slightly citrus, slightly bitter hoppy, yet you get some honey notes as well. The hop flavors are medium high, the hop bitterness is medium to medium high and the malt flavor is medium to medium low. The flavor is quite nice with a slight citrusy flavor with a light sweet flavor.

What’s a #SuperBowl party without your favorite brews? There’s still time to order a keg for the big game this Sunday, and bring your favorite Outlaw to the party! Link in bio. #AlesForOutlaws #Football #NCcraftbeer #kegsonkegs

Pistols At Dawn

Pistols At Dawn is a stout brewed with roasted malts, oats, lactose, and locally produced chocolate and coffee. This stout has a rich, dark velvety taste with a fine oatmeal flavor. This beer pours a fully opaque black color with a full inch of dark tan head that retains well before becoming a thick ring around the edge of the glass.

Lonerider delivers a beer with the smell of coffee, roasted malts, and chocolate. The taste is mainly chocolate but with the coffee and sweetness hang around in the background. This is a very nice and easy to drink “big” stout. There are wonderful complexity of flavors and aromas which only improve as the beer warms up.

Got plans for the big game? Join The Outlaws this Sunday at Bare Bones in downtown Raleigh! We’re throwing a Super Bowl party, and we’re throwing down. Amazing food, games, and beer beer beer. Did we mention you could win free Lonerider beer for a year? Doesn’t get much better than this. See ya there folks! @barebonesdtr #AlesForOutlaws #SuperBowl #Raleigh #DTR #football #NCcraftbeer

Deadeye Jack

Deadeye Jack is a delicious seasonal porter consisting of a strong malty background. Beer drinkers will enjoy the hints of roasted chocolate, subtle sweetness and low hop bitterness. This porter is super dark with a creamy head. Porter drinkers will enjoy the roasted malt, chocolate and a mild sweetness.

Moderate to significant amounts of lacing are observed. This is a tasty porter with no apparent flaws and plenty of flavor. You will notice the chocolate, more when it is cool than warm. It is slick but a little creamy like drinking milk.

Overall, it was a great experience sharing beers from Lonerider. Again, what did you think I got right and what do you think I said wrong? Sound off below in the comments section.
