After the race, many stayed for the Bavarian Fest, a festive street party which continues to grow each year!

Everyone enjoyed the good weather, main stage entertainment provided by The True Romans and many found their way to the Highline Schools Foundation Charity Beer Garden where volunteers were pouring beer graciously donated by Georgetown Brewing.

The kids’ area was also popular with a bouncy house, face painting, pumpkin painting, a chalk garden and root beer garden courtesy of HMS Host.

New this year, The Rave Foundation – the official charitable arm of Sounders FC – brought their newly-created Soccer Octagon to Brat Trot! The Soccer Octagon is a one of a kind, transferable, modular, pop-up cage-like playfield that allows soccer to be taken to any part of the city. The kids were invited to play soccer with Seattle Sounders FC Roger Levesque.

“We are very proud to be able to produce this major event for our community. It’s about raising funds for charity, but it’s also about bringing us all together for a day of celebration! Nobody does it like Highline!” said Highline Schools Foundation Trustee and race course lead Mike Yellam.

Foundation Executive Director Ashley Fosberg said “with the funds raised from Brat Trot, we can do our job of getting more kids what they need to be successful in school. From school supplies for our neediest of students, to classroom grants and athletic fees, the Foundation does it all and everything in between, and we can’t do it without community support. Thank you, Highline community!”
