Members from several local Toastmasters International clubs competed on March 28 in the “Area 41 International Speech and Evaluation” contests held in Burien.

Carl Johnson won 1st place in the International Speech contest with his speech entitled Checkmate. Carl represents the Tolerant Talkers club.

The second place winner was Christine Lopinto from Jetsetters with her speech The family that almost wasn’t.

Marc Delphine from Jetsetters took 1st place in the Evaluation contest with Nathan Hansen of Growthmasters taking 2nd. Both contestants gave stellar evaluations of the evening’s test speech.

The winners from each contest will compete at the Division D contest to be held on Friday, April 11 at the Highline Public Schools (ERAC) building, located at 15675 Ambaum Boulevard SW.
