The Arizona Wildcats visit Sin City and face a team that has lost, um, most games. That only leaves a bit of worry on my mind.

The bad news is that we won't get a good feel for the offensive capabilities of this squad -- unless of course UNLV is winning. The good news is that the Wildcats' defense looked solid in Week 1, albeit it was only against NAU. A loss would be worse than Mike Stoops' losses to New Mexico, which were, on a spectrum from 1-to-10, like an 8 on the embarrassing scale.

Don't get me wrong. Arizona should win. It's just that this team is far from proving its ready to blast a bad FBS school on a bad day. If the turnovers aren't plentiful for the Wildcats -- they've never been under Rich Rodriguez -- this should be a win.

On to what you need to know for watching purposes.

The Wildcats opened as 13-point favorites but that is down below 12 at this point, according to OddsShark.com. Vegas is often not too far off, and that makes it a bit more testy of a situation, no?

We wonder if the Wildcats will try to pump the tempo up just a bit more. Why? Well, the Wildcats ran just 47 offensive plays against NAU, not exactly the type of numbers RichRod offenses are used to producing. Last year, Arizona was pushing 100 offensive snaps per game.

Jason Bartel's game preview with Rich Rodriguez spouting the understandable concern about the Runnin' Rebels.

According to Anthony Gimino, third-down defense is something that Jeff Casteel is putting an emphasis upon.

Daniel Jenkins will start in front of Ka'Deem Carey, but don't get us wrong -- Carey will certainly play, and it'd be surprising if he doesn't get more snaps than Jenkins in the end. It's just a matter of Rich Rodriguez proving a point about off-the-field life management. And B.J. Denker is starting, though we're not quite sure how permanent that'll be.

Bartel's primer on the UNLV program and their woes dating back many years.
