Several Wildcats’ opponents are ranked though

After receiving a couple of votes in the preseason Coaches’ poll, it would not have been surprising if the Arizona Wildcats got a couple in the preseason AP Poll as well. But alas, they did not, as we found out Sunday morning when the poll was released. Arizona’s first opponent, BYU, also did not receive any votes, but Pac-12 opponents Stanford, Washington, USC and UCLA are all ranked, with Utah and Washington State also receiving votes. The Wildcats may not be ranked, but they’ll have plenty of opportunities to prove themselves

- Speaking of preseason polls, North Dakota State put out an FCS preseason bracketology. NAU makes an appearance, paired up with McNeese State in the first round, which is where Kendal Franklin goes now

- 2017 two-star commit Elijah Watson appears to have the moves on the defensive line

- Sunday was Arizona Media Day. Some fun things happened on our Facebook page. You should give us a like there because we’ll be doing a ton of new stuff on that platform this year that no one else is offering

- Apparently Charlie Ragle needs some help with his fashion game

- J.J. Taylor is small, we’ve all heard that story over and over, but he also looks like Kevin Hart

- Several Arizona commits are playing for some high-profile high schools this year

Basketball

- One of our writers Toby Lason wrote this over at Pacific Takes on the whole Terrance Ferguson thing

- Could Arizona land a highly-talented player from France? It seems like there’s a strong possibility

Baseball

- The day before school means the first team meeting of the year, and that also seems to mean In N Out

Other sports

- Volleyball was out delivering season tickets

- The Olympics are officially over. Here’s how all the athletes with University of Arizona ties did

- Women’s soccer dominated Utah Valley 5-1 in their home opener

Flip throw led to a foul in the box, which set up a PK for Arizona. Erica Stephan's shot was saved, however. pic.twitter.com/HhN1sKdvYG

Tucson news

- Brushfire BBQ officially won our Tucson Restaurant Tournament

- A person was shot and killed near Swan and Pima

- The ongoing case involving the former dean of the College of Pharmacy took a dramatic turn in court this weekend, and the fact that U of A is still paying this guy his $253k/year salary is grotesque
